Morning LadiesTigs, I'm glad you decided to give cleaning a miss and had a good natter to Mark and his friends.  You can lean a lot about what our "children" are doing that way, and also I read that the special memories we created with our "children" are lifes gift,  Mark will rememer the happy chatting, but if you had cleaned the house, that would have disappeared into the mists of time.

Thanks for the offer re-makeup Tigs, but it would appear that the colors of both the lipstic and eyeshadow have been discontinued Mind you I have had the eyeshadows a long time, don't use much of them, it's just that when I do want to glam up, I want them

About the new site, not sure we can "post" like we do, unless I am using it the wrong way.  I did put a message on it for Tigs about the heating When the man came to put Bill's new lap top into the order he wanted I got him to put "ladies take a break" onto it so I can use it when I am away, however, I did not have the "ladies take a break" face book on my computer at that stage, so, whilst I am away I will ask Yvette to send me another link to  "ladies" face book so I can get it onto Bills new lap top that way.  I could ask Simon, but with Christmas coming up and being so busy I could forget.  I always think of  "computer" things for him to do, and tie a knot in my hankerchief, then I forget

Poor Simon I still need him to finish off teaching me the D.V.D.  We have two, both different, now how did that happen? should have been both the same then only have to learn one  Then of course the BIG JOB, how to use the new camera-I will wait to let him in on that news until he comes up to the Lake with us, then when he is captive, and I had fed him his favorite meal, just casually bring it out, he loves fiddling with gadgets so he won't be able to help himself and I will have got him hooked

Oh Fudge Red, perhaps you should post a recipe.  I love Fudge.  When we go away we always stop for coffee and usually cheese/bacon/tomato on toast at a lovely little cafe and they always have this special fudge on the counter and that is one of the treats I look forward to, besides the tasty toast.  Its funny all the little favorite things you keep just for holiday times.  Don't know anywhere else you can get this at, anyway, and if I did it probably would not taste the same as when you are travelling away.

Well, to-day we went out to The big city mall and bought the last of our presents.  I was wheeled round by Bill like I was a ninety year old!  I really could not have walked very far as my knee had been really hurting since three in the morning and whatever I took I just could not get out of the plain.  It was amazing the other people out there who are on crutches or using a wheel chair, we had borrowed ours from the depot, you have to leave your car keys at the depot and your get them back when you return the chair.

We were like a secret society, coming face to face with the other people, we sort of gave each other secret smiles of condolence!!! Bill and I were laughing in the end about it.  When walking normally, either we are going so fast you don't notice the people in wheelchairs or suddenly the in thing is knee replacements  In the end the chair handles were holding our shopping and I had a big bunch of flowers to give a friend on my knee When we returned the wheel chair a couple of hours later there weren't any left, so felt a bit badly in case we had had it out too long and someone else had to go without, but there were quite a few when we first got ours out.  It even drew up to the table when we had our cup ofEnglish Breakfast tea (and cream bun)

Well think I have talked enough nonsense for one night.  Enjoy your day ladies

Lol Ann I am just on my way out but I had to check in here first and I laughed all the way through your post and just had to comment whilst it was 'fresh' in my memory. Was a lovely light relief after and sad post from one of Mark's young girlfriends who is having problems with someone else in their group of friends. Anyway I have despatched the first of which I am sure will be many messages via the postbox on face book for today.

Now I really must dash got loads to do today....

 Hi ladies,

Finally can do some news myself lol, been busy we sold the Spa Pool for $4000 so we were really happy, so we started Christmas shopping, bought a new Chest Freezer and I bought a new Weed Whacker for hubby and its his new toy lmaooo,oh and a cd While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Bought myself the new Duffy cd and its awesome and a new mobile phone a 027 Telecom only to keep in touch with my pregnant daughter, and 2 Telecom mobiles for my 2 teens that is half their Christmas presents and nxt week a $50 Warehouse Giftcard, plus buying biscuits for the rest and my parent-inlaws and a sister and brother-inlaw.
We are going to one of hubbys brother's for a traditional Christmas Lunch and then to one of his sister;s for a UMU which is a Samoan Feast cooked in the ground yummy lol, can't wait for the Chop Suey Scrumptious.
So Christmas Day is way busy again , but only problem is my teens donm't want to go for the lunch one as there Uncle who is hosting it is a bully and frankly I don't want to go either but hubby says we have to go, we go to eat and runnn lol.
Then we are picking up my preggy daughter an son-inlaw to spend Christmas tea with us and open pressies lol.
I must confess lmaoo got hardly any of the money left, hubby mainly the big spender roflll.

On a unhappy note now, I am not happy at my job anymore as the other staff I have found out are backstabbing me, even tho I work alone they blame me for things they don't do, so have had enough and waiting to pay my repair bill off at work and leaving for another job.
Its gotten worse over the last month as a new worker has started, so I am definitley going to leave.

I have one weekend to go before I have 2 weeks off and my friend from Christchurch is coming for the first week, we are going Fishing, Speedway, Drives and other activities, which I don't know about yet lmaooo.

Well on that note I will say Goodnight as I am real tired, you all have a good day?night.

Hello girls,

Nice to see you and read your news Lilbabs.  Glad the hot tub could be beneficial to you one way or another.  Personally I think I would have sold it too seeing how much trouble the one my niece bought is causing her. The poor fellas have moved it 3 times and it is HEAVY. There were 6 of them and they struggled.  Now it is still not hooked up as the plumber has to come run the pipes/wires, ???  that all involves. Then there are the chemicals to be bothered with. They sure are nice to enjoy once in a while though.
Shame about the people you work with. Sometimes I think it is the people who actually work hard who get the worst treatment from their peers as they are lazy most times, and have nothing better to do then to worry about what others are doing.  I'm sure you'll find something you like soon.

You ladies are right about the wandering men. Their guilty concious can not allow them to enjoy the holiday so they need to bring everyone to their level.  How are these poor women supposed to put on their Christmas faces for their children. Kids pick up on things like that, it cannot be hidden, that only worries them more I think.  At least they will know why Mom is crying. Details are not necessary, it must be done tactfully and not to slander their father in any way.  Difficult as h@!! but its part of parenting.  Chrissy is picking her kids up today to make the last of her cookies for the exchange.  I will see them this afternoon when I go over at 2. They are doing the cutouts.  I did not make any of those as I knew the children would be providing them. The first year I didn't , but I did make 6 dozen press cookies.  Only sugars for decorations though.  ALl in all I made 5 lbs chocolate fudge, which is softer then usual..?  9 lbs of peanut butter fudge,  6 doz pressed cookies, 6 doz. oatmeal scotchies, 8 doz peanut butter cup blossoms,
6 dozen  chocolate cordials, 8 doz Christmas M&M/ ch, chip cookies, 5 dozen raspberry filled, 6 doz, peppermint definity, and 4 dozen  maccaroons.  Joe helped a little bit, which I appreciate every bit of help I get. lol  Out of all that, I will make 8 trays for the swap, 12 plates for friends, when I pass out gifts,  A large tray for Shirley to take to her family gathering, (she makes me some potaote salad, deviled eggs, and mac and cheese from scratch for my Christmas dinner) Which this year will be at Pattis.  I mailed Rhondaand both aunts a package, and am still waiting for my Mom's box, as the box I had intended will not fit. I have just not the time or energy to go that extra mile.   I talked to her yesterday and told her I had not sent theirs out yet. They had some bad icy weather there  I am about to make up all my plates, and will see what I have left.  I am making a plate for each center we work at, although I am sure we will get nothing from them, (as last year), but that isn't what this is all about. Speaking of which, I noticed at each center they recieved a Chirstmas card from my boss, but he never sent one to his help, I think that is just wrong.  As a matter of fact, they had my check wrong this past month to boot.  People just don't know how to treat others sometimes. I can't figure them out.  That's a whole other post, lol

Ann don't feel guilty about using that chair,  you needed it as much as the next person would have.  It's the store who is at fault for not having enough readily available. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy some holiday festivities, IO am sure it was tiring all the same.

Tigs, I agree, I also enjoy the company of most all Joe's /Tim's friends.  They make me young again, lol.  Most of them anyways,  this last fella from Tennessee was rather odd.  lol   Every now and then I have to call Jimmy and ask him what he has been doing as I have not seen him for 4-5 days. He usually tells me well I was by last night while you were working or something.  Then there is Jason, who has the alcoholic father who has been in and out of jail with DUI.  He is awaiting another sentencing now, a lengthly I am afraid. He hit someone this time.  They are OK as far as long term medical or anything, only a few bruises, but he wwas driving without a liscense. He and Joe have known each other since they were in 7th grade.  Jason brings a few friends here as well.  Tim is friends with basically most of Joes, and  a few others he had worked with before, but none that are from way back and just his own friends. TIm is not as outgoing as Joe.

Can you tell I am refreshed, ??  lol  I slept for nearly 10 hours
WOW,  I feel like someone gave me a shot of B. I hope it lasts as I have got to get rolling I have been siting here way too long.  I was so excited this morning as I got on and I had an e mail from myspace, and they sent me my password, YEAH  Now my little pork chop could be bathed and fed, pmsl.  '

  Later girls

Helllooooo
Wow Red you sure have got the gift of the gab and the energy to match.
Do you exchange food with everyone for christmas and I presume some of the sweet treats are presents?? I think it's a great idea if a friend or family member is particularly good at making something and your not and vice versa then you both get the best by swopping. I can't believe how much you have made nor how much they must have cost in time and money. Well done you!

Oh Ann I'm so pleased that you were able to get round and finish your shopping. Don't worry about 'hogging' the wheelchair, as you used it for as long as you needed to and weren't deliberately using it to stop someone else from doing so.
It's amazing isn't it how you don't notice how many people there are using supports and chairs when you are able bodied until you find yourself in a similar situation and then they are everywhere. The thing I have noticed most is how poor some pavements are and how difficult it is to push someone in a wheelchair outside. There have been a lot of specialist things done over the years eg lowering pavements, buttons on pelicans etc but there is still room for many more improvements yet.

Good idea feeding Simon up and then getting him to show you how to use your camera. lol

We've had a busy day, church, then Tesco, then a trip to Oswaldtwistle Mills which has lots of different types of shop under one roof. I didn't buy very much and truth be known I wasn't really in a shopping mood  ok ladies pick yourselves up from the floor! I've felt quite tired today and my feet have been very painful so not a good day really. I'll be glad when I get my blood tests back early next week and see if I have got rheumatoid arthritis (I hope I haven't but if it is that then at least I know there is a reason for my lethargy and pain. If it is I will be able to take meds which will slow the condition down and hopefully make me feel perkier.

I've gathered together a few bits of cardmaking and brought them downstairs as I want to spend the evening in the lounge and not cooped up in my little craft room.

Have a pleasant time everyone.
