Yes for sure .These skinny celebrities and models give out the wrong message to youngsters .I blame model agencys and promoters lets promote normal sizes and show how all sizes can look good and even fashionable ! |

Yes most definately, famous people like Victoria Beckham are a bad example for people today, her body weight is appalling, how can anyone that thin think they're attractive, she looks plastic to me, not a real person. We should be encouraging people of all sizes they can be just as attractive and look good too. |

Yes the media does influence our kids to be thin,my 18 yr old daughter thinks she beautiful at 40 kilos and I think she looks like a stick,so I hate the magazines with stick models. My daughter only has to put a little bit of weight on and she thinks she fat . From my hubby's view he thinks more rounded woman are more beautiful than skinny woman,my hubby also said if he had a skinny wife he would be afraid to hug me cos he thinks I might break lol. |

YES The Magazines are full of thin thin young women, and if they look thin in magazines then in real life they must be stick like as the camera adds at least 10lbs. Also girls can be quite curel to other girls at school by calling a nice sized girl FAT. Young girls want to be accepted and don't know how to handle this, the only way they think is to give in to peer presure and they refuse to eat the very things that will make for healthy bones. They do it in underhand ways too, I can remember a "friend" saying to me "Oh you always look nice, you look like marilyn Monroe, she was PLUMP" and immediately I thouht "Oh I am Fat" but then she asked to borrow my "best" dress for a special do-so I was able to answer her "I wold love to but it would be much to big for YOU" mind you I still felt I did not measure up but good about being able to have a come back! Usually I think of good comebacks in bed in the middle of the night!!!!!!
