What age do you think is  a good age to start teaching children about sex education? Who do you think should teach it?

Your child will ask questions at their leisure. I believe it should all come from a parent...kept out of the schools.

I think a parent knows when the time is right and I also think like Red that it's the parents responsibilty to teach about sexual relationships .But I do think they need to teach about it in schools because not every child has a parent/parents that do talk about it to them .Maybe a good thing in schools would be to give separate lessons to the girls and boys then less giggling would go on and they may be prone to ask more questions and not feel embarrased about it as a lot do when they are in a mixed class .

My Joe is being taught sex education at school at the moment, on Tuesdays he told me lol.  Also i found a leaflet in his school explaining what happens to a boy's body at the age of 11 onwards, and infact Mike asked Joe a few questions about 'birds n bees' whilst he was here, and just answered openly and quite confidently Joe's questions, i hid in the kitchen

Sex Education is fine with me taught in schools, here in New Zealand the school sends a consent form for parents to sign and I sign because these days kids learn from there friends.
My kids asked my hubby and I questions and we told them together with confidence so our kids would not feel as if we were embarrassed by explaining.
I would rather my kids be taught at school as well as at home so they will hopefully make the right decision for them to abstain or be active  ,to help them know that sex has to be consentual  have condoms and given the righ atitude towards sex.
Most of all to know that sex is best with someone that you really do love.
