Hey Red. Are you familiar with Suze Orman? She is a financial coach and has written many books about money. Her current one is called Women and Money. Apparently more than 1.1 people have downloaded it for free recently. If you are interested and you dont have your own copy, I can forward a copy to you. |

Oh yes, Sweet, I do know of Suze. I have watched numerous episodes of her early morning talk show. She's brilliant with money matters.! I would love a copy if you'd like to forward it. Thanks! |

give me your email address and I will forward a pdf file. The book is around 276 pages long. But you have to promise to read it. I am reading bits at a time and what I have read so far is good stuff and common sense. In fact, everything that I myself teach families. It is horrendous what some banks and financial institutions do to people. How can someone work all their life and at 65 years old not have anything to show for it. And it is so easy ... as simple as depriving yourself of a daily latte. |

Ken and I have not had a bank account in many years. We do not have a lot of extra cashj flow, so I feel like we were being played so bad with the bank. Seems as though they would take forever to deposit our checks, but wuthdraw of monies was very prompt. Sometimes resulting in overdraft charges that were outrageous. The final straw was when they ran the same check through 3 times in 1 day, and charged us for each transaction. We closed our account, with a lot of mess to clear up, and have NEVER had an account. My son holds an account and we deposit all the monthly bill monies in that, and he writes the checks off to everyone. Makes his credit very good! Has worked very well for us as it is the ONLY thing that account is for. See how long winded I can get...lol |

Hey Red. You mentioned that your yard is quite rocky and that you want to start a herb garden. Heres an idea. It worked well for me. Put down several sheets of newspaper over the area you want to cultivate and throw good earth and peat moss and other good stuff and another layer of newspapers. Keep layering until it is deep enough for planting. Simply stick your herb plants in and watch them grow. Its called lasagna gardening. My front yard is clay and totally impossible to dig. And thats what I did several years ago. The newspapers keep weeds from appearing --- although you do get some. Let me know if you do try it. |
