I work part time in a school kitchen  (same school that both my kids go ) i'm classed as a General Kitchen Asst, i work alongside the cook, being a small school 110 pupils lol, there only needs to be 2 of us working, we get on really well, which is brilliant, otherwise would be very uncomfortable working there.
I also get to see my kids at lunchtime, only my son Joe has school dinners, Emily isnt too keen, except Fridays when its fish n chips lol.

I do enjoy it, but its surprising how many kids turn their noses up at the vegetables and the fruit, so i'm guessing they dont always eat it at home, i know now the names of all the kids in the school lol, although not all the surnames, and they all know me

I'm a medical receptionist in my GP surgery and have worked there since early May 06. There are 14 of us altogether working shifts covering two receptions. One reception is the routine appointments and the other is the urgent assessment clinic /prescription desk which I am mainly on. It can be very demanding and quite stressful as due to holidays and two staff on long term sick we only usually work 2 on each reception at any one time. The phone rings constantly, people call in to order or collect prescriptions and the chemists can be the biggest pain chasing scripts on behalf of patients, in between all that we have to process the prescriptions, usually several hundred in any one shift. There are 13,500 patients so you can imagine the work generated by them. I love my work though and find it very interesting and rewarding. I work 20 hours a week split over 4 days. I usually cover the afternoon stretch but from March I'll be doing one morning and 4 afternoons.
