1. Are you allergic to any medications? 2. Are you allergic to any insects... ants, bee's, etc...? 3. Have you ever had to be rushed to the ER because of an allergic reaction (or any member of your family)? 4. Have you ever gotten choked on food? If so, what kind of food and what did you do? 5. Have you ever used the Heimlich maneuver on anyone or has it had to be used on you when you were choking on something? 6. If it was necessary, could you give yourself or any family member daily injections? 7. Have you ever experienced having to sit in your doctor's office and he/she had to tell you there was something seriously wrong with you or a family member? 8. If your doctor told you there was a medication that would treat your condition but had a serious side effect, such as problems with your vision, would you agree to take the meds anyway? 9. Can you sit comfortably and talk with your doctor or do you feel like he/she is trying to push you on out the door to go to the next patient? 10. If it was necessary, could you give yourself or any family member daily injections?NO - NEARLY HAD TO ONCE BUT COULDNT INJECT MYSELF 7. Have you ever experienced having to sit in your doctor's office and he/she had to tell you there was something seriously wrong with you or a family member? YES WHEN THEY TOLD ME I HAD LUNG CANCER. 8. If your doctor told you there was a medication that would treat your condition but had a serious side effect, such as problems with your vision, would you agree to take the meds anyway?YES 9. Can you sit comfortably and talk with your doctor or do you feel like he/she is trying to push you on out the door to go to the next patient?I FEEL MY DR DOESN'T REALLY CARE. 10. I see a different doctor everytime i go to the surgery, they're all ok though. 10. If so, what kind of food and what did you do? no, I chew my food and never laugh or argue while eating 5. Have you ever used the Heimlich maneuver on anyone or has it had to be used on you when you were choking on something? No, but i know how to do it 6. If it was necessary, could you give yourself or any family member daily injections? oh nooo 7. Have you ever experienced having to sit in your doctor's office and he/she had to tell you there was something seriously wrong with you or a family member? no 8. If your doctor told you there was a medication that would treat your condition but had a serious side effect, such as problems with your vision, would you agree to take the meds anyway? no, would check out other alternatives 9. Can you sit comfortably and talk with your doctor or do you feel like he/she is trying to push you on out the door to go to the next patient? no, cant sit comfortably. Being a doctor is no longer a vocation but a business 10. If you learned that you had a serious condition, would you share it with your family/friends right away or would you wait a while before telling anyone? I would wait before telling anyone. I would have to understand and accept my condition before being bombarded with suggestions from well-meaning souls. |

If so, what kind of food and what did you do?Was a hard boiled sweet once whilst I was visiting my aunts with my mum and dad, it slipped down as soon as I started sucking on it and it got stuck. My dad hoisted me up by the ankles and slapped me on the back, I was about 8 at the time! 5. Have you ever used the Heimlich maneuver on anyone or has it had to be used on you when you were choking on something?I've used it twice on Wac, once he was choking on a piece of steak and the second time a chunk of boiled potato.
When he was chewing the steak the silly beggar went by the side of a building as he was embarrassed at coughing, we were miles from anywhere, just before the days of mobile phones and had I not acted promptly after first thinking he was over reacting I'd have been dusting off the insurance policy after that summer barbie.
The potato incident didn't have time to get so far cos we were at home and I got straight to it. 6. If it was necessary, could you give yourself or any family member daily injections?Asked now when I don't have to do it I'd say no but if I had to I'd have to seriously rethink my fears of needles. 7. Again when he was 13 and had torsion of the testes, again operated on and finally at 14 when he had appendicitis and was rushed straight to theatre for the Doc to find it was about to explode! 8. Was eating an imperial mint once and managed to swallow it as soon as it went in my mouth David hit me on the back to get it up ! 5. My doctor isn't to bad and doesn't push you out the door . 10.
