Greetings from Minneapolis, Minnesota, I'm Chris, 36, and big on music, movies television, sports, travel, and the on-line experience.

I'm a childhood Leukemia survivor, but not without limitations suffered in the way of a severe hearing loss, a loss of some vision, hand-eye coordination, strength, balance, and endurance.

Anyways, I probably embrace the on-line experience more than most because it's my way of compensating for the social limitations caused by the hearing loss. E-mail message boards, and so forth are like my telephone and social avenue all in one. I grew up talking and listening, I've never been great with sign language or any of that, so I really enjoy this stuff as a reprieve from the social frustration caused by being unable to hear in noisy environments or around those who fail to get my attention and speak up.  It's an issue everywhere with family, friends, co-workers, etc. So I love this stuff, it gives me a sense of normalcy in an otherwise difficult lifestyle.
