Until recently, I never realized that there are millions of people from the east coast to the west coast, and across the world that are members of groups who are suffering. They don't let everyone know what their illness or pain is, but to a few, they do! Members of this group are not merely members but their friend, and they try to listen, to try to help, to share a shoulder, to offer advice, and when needed to cry with them.
It is the strength of our friends which keep us from giving up when so much of the world looks dark. The old saying that "No one said life was fair"...hold a special ring of truth to those who are disabled or suffering. It rings out loud and clear and that truth is compounded by finacial inability to change our circumstances, or in many cases we can't make our illness just "Go Away"! For those, they must make the best of what cards life has dealt them!
Think about it my friend! Think about all the things you take for granted day after day. I never thought my health would change in the ways that it has. I never felt that I would feel helpless! But in reality, I realized today that my health concerns are minor and unimportant indeed compared to others at this site, whether any of us know what they have to endure. I am proud to be a member here and will always try to help others in my town or in this group.
Perhaps my post will change nothing and perhaps it will make someone appreciate all that they have been blessed with. Perhaps they will be more kind, more comforting and more sympathetic to those who struggle with illness, disability or pain.
I light a candle of hope to everyone here, that you will not feel that no one cares or even notices you because I do care.
Raymond.
