I agree, the books are so involved.  So much has to be cut out to make it feature length.  I'm always thinking it's a shame that certain parts of the books never made it into the movie.  But still well worth it, my kids love them dearly.   Yes, I admit it, I am a huge dork for loving these kiddie books and movies-occupational hazzard (stay-at-home Mother-aka domestic goddess)

ok.. I have to admit.. I am a huge harry potter fan!  this was my favorite book in the series and yeah I wish there was more in the movie but that is why you have to do both.. read the book and watch the movie.. I love how ron has all the funny parts!
