You're sunshine on my face

friendship's welcome smile

A pick me up happiness that

I need once and a while

 

My day is brightened by you

my friend, I whisper back to you

And in return I hope you feel

the same about me too

 

Friendship doesn't care about

feeling like a king or queen

Instead we simply ask of them

to accept the smile we bring

 

We listen, talk offer a shoulder

or a hug each may need so much

We share our laughter and our pains

and that imaginary warm touch

 

No, it's not age or distance that I

believe makes us good friends

But knowing you want to be there

and share your smile again
