Welcome to the Light and Shadows First Degree Training course.

Over the next year and a day you wiil be trained in learning the basic skills of the Craft in the tradition of Light and Shadows, and what is expected of you to be a quality member of the Light and Shadows Coven

There will be things expected of you within that time frame of this year and a day. Your resolve to commit yourself to the study of the Craft and dedication to your Spirituality will be tested and evaluated in order for you to progress into 2nd degree training.

Some so called witch colleges allow you to take your time and study at your own speed while charging you a monthly fee. These programs are very seldom successful for most people wanting a serious and thorough program of training.

Here we take the year and a day training time seriously and by expecting a certain caliber of performance to produce quality coven members who are serious about their desire to practice the craft in a dignified and educated manner.

CLASSES
A new subject matter or extention of a subject matter will be presented every 2 weeks, with time for breaks in regards to mundane and family holidays. At the end of each time period give for the study and completion of each subject matter, you will be tested.
We will be scheduling Study Halls that will be manditory for you to attend just as in any training, you must be willing to put in the time needed to learn from your instructors.  We will do our best to accomidate times schedules when we have them but we have to know available times before hand.

Penalty for missing 3 assignments completely will result in being released from training to return to the outer circle until the next training session begins the next year.

These rules may seem harsh, but it is serious path work we are doing and a trainee HAS to take it seriously in order to complete their training to be a Priest/ess. It's one thing to be a witch, and a whole other thing to be a Priest/ess. As followers of the Lady, She deserves the best we can give Her, not just the spare moments that we can find in our mundane lives.
We do expect your respect and devotion to the Craft to show in the work you will do here.  This is preperation for the rest of your life path.

There will be a few classes that will need to be given special attention by registration and completion of courses offered in the Lyceum. These are very high quality and indepth courses that do have a price tag, but the cost of them can be done in payments as described in the Lyceum, Please contact Lady Majyk for more information about that.  These are self-paced lessons and recommended at proper times in the lessons that deal with the subject matter.

RITUALS
Attendance and participation for all Sabbat rituals is required. The only acception for non attendance is a family emergency or dire illness both of which will require a detailed letter explaining the situation to Lady Majyk at:

[email protected]

Attendance and participation interrupted by difficulties with the internet are understood, but reconnection asap is highly recommended. Should you be cut off during a ritual, since you did attempt to attend, you can aquire a transcript of the ritual by contacting the Priestess that was officiating the ritual.

Attendance of a minimum of 20 Esbats, both Full and New Moon rituals are required. The only acception for non attendance is a family emergency or dire illness both of which will require a detailed letter explaining the situation to Lady Majyk at:

No worthy goal is met without sacrifice. Flexing the strength in yourself to prioritize activities in your mundane world to make room for studying the Craft is not enough.

You must excersize your right of choice and prioritize your studies in order to make room for your mundane activities even if that means sacrificng some mundane things in order to make studying the Craft your #1 goal. This will mean diligence and looking ahead, and anticipating the demands of the mundane world and letting them know ahead of time that you will be unavailable on certain nights. You needn't tell them "sorry I have a witch class that night." or "Sorry, we are having a ritual at that time."... Most Mundanes will accept the statement that you have a prior obligation sufficient, if not, then that's where the choice of what to sacrifice comes in.

Rearranging work schedules to fulfill your Craft study obligations may be one of the things you could have to deal with. So be prepared.

L&S training is not fluffy bunny witchcraft, it is a serious study of spiritual growth and enlightenment. As we expect a great deal from you, know that you will be receiving a great deal from us in training you to become an exceptional witch as well as priestess and follower of the Ways of the Wise.

In order to graduate and go on to 2nd degree training and intitiation, you MUST have at least a 80% = Grade Point Average by the end of the course.

We are striving to train special quality Priests/esses, not a quantity of mediocre witches.

If you cannot do better than 80% GPA, you may reapply for 1st Degree Training next year.

If you feel the requirements for training are too stringent, say so and return to the outer circle, no one will think less of you. Being a Priest/ess is not for everyone and it take many different types of people to make a world.

But if you are dedicated, diligent, and steadfast to this Path, you will do well indeed.

Any questions?
