the consequences and benefits of shielding

we grow up learning from experience after experience what to avoid that causes us pain, as a result nearly everyone to some extent or the other is alone, even in a room of strangers protecting ourselves from anyone hurting us.

Some people, with their parents encouragement (usually because of their own traumas as children), teach themsleves not to care what other people think about them. They are the kids the others chose out of the class to be the outcast.

They sometimes live in a neighborhood where there wasn't another child their age for blocks.

And some have siblings who are threatened by their existance and competed for their parents love.

That mixture of coincidental circumstances supplies them with the building blocks for a fortress of solitude that make Superman's place look like a low rent district.

On the upside, they can learn to be their own best friend, the person they know they can count on and depend on 99% of the time

No one likes to expose, admit, or feel thier vulnerabilities, especially the pain of rejection and we sometimes get so overprotective about it to the point of being veritable recluses, and then the lonliness hits and we crave the acceptance and relationships of other people.

Unfortunately by then, the ability to take risks has usally atrophied by then to a point where fear of rejection and desire for acception battle with such passion many of us end up taking medications to be able to function at all. Marital relationships are tenuous if not disaterous, and in parenting, subconcious transferal of defensive tactics in teaching principles carries the psychosis on to the next generation to different levels of degree.

Even a person who has little difficulty fostering friendships projects "fences" their friends are taught not to violate. No one is or should be totally unshielded. But care should be given to monitor the level and maintenance of that shielding.

This class is to introduce you to the uses and purposes of magickal shielding to protect yourself from negativity and certain people who are destuctive, even energetically vampirish. Some of you will think you don't know how to do this, but based on what I have just explained, I submit you do on a subconscious level.

In here I will attempt to give you methods to dip into your reservior of subconscious experiences and bring them to the surface and take control of your shielding capabilities through visualization and meditation techniques.

Some of you may find this uncomfortable. That's ok, this class is designed to provide a safe place for you to work on this and be in a non threatening environment so you can build up the courage to use it to your advantage in your mundane world.

Hopefully, an added benefit will be the discovery of self confidence in yourselves to the point where you have conquered your fears of rejection and lack of self esteem and emerge a potent and powerful witch in your own right.
