CREAM SCONES
8 oz. All Purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 oz. COLD butter..cut in small pieces 1 egg yolk 5 1/2 fluid oz. 1/2&1/2
Sift the dry ingredients together , then cut in the butter . scramble the yolk in the 1/2&1/2 and add to the dry ingredientd till you have a soft dough. Knead about 12 times. Pat into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle , cut into two squares , then each square into triangles. Bake in a preheated 350f oven 10-15 minutes or till light golden brown with "tear" marls along the edges...serve warm! (with your choice of organic tea of course!) |
