Chocolate Candy Cookie Bars

Pillsbury Annual Recipes 2007.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup candy-coated chocolate candies or semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts, if desired

Heat oven to 375°. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, granulated sugar,
butter and shortening with electric mixer on medium speed until light and
fluffy, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in vanilla and egg until well
blended. On low speed, beat in flour, baking soda and salt until dough
forms. With spoon, stir in chocolate candies and nuts. Spread dough in
ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Bake 15 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool, completely about 30 minutes. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.
