FRIED APPLE PIES
4 peeled, thinly sliced Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples
1/2 c. water
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Cook apples until done, cool to room temperature. Open a can of
crescent rolls, unroll the triangles and let them warm some.
With your hands, carefully stretch the rolls out a little. Lay
one crescent on a plate, fill with the apple mixture (make sure
its not too hot or too cold) and top with a matching crescent.
Pinch the edges together. Heat some oil in a skillet, place pies
in oil and fry. (Be careful, the crescents brown quickly.) Brown
on both sides. Remove from skillet, put on a plate and sprinkle
with powdered sugar.
