Sweet Maple Baked Beans
2 c. dried navy beans, sorted and rinsed
10 c. water
3/4 c. water
1 med. onion, chopped( 1/2 c.)
3/4 c. real maple syrup
3 T. packed brown sugar
2 t. ground mustard
1/2 t. ground ginger
1 t. salt
1. Heat beans and 10 c. of water to boiling in 6-quart Dutch oven; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 2 hrs. ; drain.
2. Mix beans, 3/4 c. water and the remaining ingredients in 3 1/2 - 4 quart slow cooker.
3. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hrs. or until beans are very tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
8 Servings, 1/2 cup each
