With the arrival of the year 2000, we also welcome in the Age of Aquarius... Finally, only 31 years after the musical Hair popularized it! In astrology, Aquarius is symbolized by the water bearer who imparts personal and oceanic consciousness to cleanse humanity's dramas. His gift is that which cannot be grasped, but experienced. He is atmosphere and enlightenment. The two parallel zig zag lines that emerge from his urn represent the life force of humanity. They must forever be in a balance or disaster is likely. As such, the Age of Aquarius is said to either bring total enlightenment to man or complete insanity. Based on Hair, we expect a little of both.
Ruth Montogomery predicts that the in the Spring/Summer of the Year 2000, earthquakes will cause the polar ice caps to shift with the "new" South Pole being located over South America and the "new" North Pole several hundred miles east of Tokyo. The shift will turn the Arctic Circle into a tropical paradise while South America would become as cold as Alaska overnight and the Mississippi could become the next Amazon, with lush Rainforest growth throughout Middle America. As Montgomery said, "Many people will not survive this shift, but others will." Because after a period of churning seas and frightful wind velocities, the turbulence will cease, and those in the north will live in a tropical clime, and vice versa. Time to buy what may become waterfront property? As we approach the Year 2000, the "optimistic" Cayce foresaw devastating earthquakes, world war, global epidemics and the end of the world as we know it. After a series of powerful earthquakes in which California finally slides into the Pacific, Cayce predicts a world drought and a horrifying epidemic that kills hundreds of millions of people, and a massive hole in the ozone layer that will open up over Europe, causing a terrifying and unprecedented plague of skin cancer killing millions more.
In 1999, nuclear war will breakout in the Middle East prompting US intervention. During the war, a powerful alliance led by China defeats the US led forces.
And more good news, the Earth's axis will shift turning the tropics frigid.
On December 31, 1999, the world ends the result of a nuclear holocaust with Christ returning at the End, predicts Cayce, for the ultimate New Year's Eve Party.
How accurate was Cayce with past predictions? He predicted Atlantis resurfacing off the Bahamas in 1969, so his millennium timing might be slightly off. The 16th century's Nostradamus, perhaps the best known prophet and widely read has alluded to bad things happening in 1999 in one of his quatrains:
The year 1999, seventh month, A great king of terror will descend from the skies, To resuscitate the great king of Angolmois, Around this time Mars will reign for the good cause
The various interpretations of this quatrain could fill a book--indeed, they have. A meteor? A nuclear bomb? The Antichrist? Countless experts (usually self-appointed) have analyzed what Nostradamus meant to say about 1999 and, as you might guess, they are none too cheery.
A few examples:
*In Doomsday: 1999 A.D., Charles Berlitz writes that "The possibility of the earth being struck by a gigantic heavenly body" which he believes could refer to a comet, planetoid, or giant meteor.
*In Dr. M. Nostradamus, Nicholas E. Boyer connects the "great king" of Angolmois to the rise of a Mongolian Antichrist who will attack Western Europe from the sky.
*In 5/5/2000, Richard W. No one claim Nostradamus was predicting the beginning of a new ice age, resulting in a polar shift and earthquakes which will devastate the planet.
It would be easy to laugh at such predictions. But it would be foolish to underestimate the hold Nostradamus has on the popular imagination.
For example, in 1988, a "mini-crisis" in California occurred when a documentary hosted by Orson Welles?U>The Man Who Saw Tomorrow—predicted a terrible earthquake for that year. Reportedly, so many celebrities left town that good tables at Hollywood restaurants could be secured.
In 1995, a headline in The Sun—always one of the most far-fetch of the gossip sheets—read: "Nostradamus Prophecy: Meteor Shower in 1999 Signals the Glorious Return of Jesus Christ."
The article by Charles Barnett?an expert on the prophecies of Nostradamus"—confirms the bad news: a deadly flotilla of asteroids will strike Earth in 1999, climaxing on December 24, 1999. The next day, Barnett believes Christ will appear.
According to Barnett, Nostradamus' other predictions for the years remaining until 2000 include the following:
- 1996: Researchers discover a machine that will induce the body to heal itself of any physical and mental illness.
- 1997: One of every three people report having an encounter with an angel. The angelic apparitions are a signal of the Second Coming.
- 1998: America, Europe and Russia will pool national and private resources to house and feed the poor.
- 1999: The Virgin Mary will appear simultaneously to every human in the world.
One thing is for certain : We'll all know soon enough.
During the American Revolution, George Washington had a vision of the future of America. Alone, late at night, and working on military report, Washington looked up to see a vision...a woman of great beauty standing in front of him., pointing eastward. The woman said "Son of the Republic, look and learn." As these words were spoken, the walls of the room dissolved, replaced by a mist and a scene of America, Europe, Asia and Africa and all the oceans. As he watched, thousands of towns sprang up all over America, far surpassing the then 13 colonies and giving Washington a look at the growth that was to come. The next scene showed a black cloud emanating from Africa and sweeping across the entirety of America. The following scene was even more grim, showing a black cloud in each of the other countries with a red light in the center, through which Washington could see huge numbers of men crossing the oceans to engulf America completely. Filled with the shouts of millions and the sounds of war, America was devastated.
Though interpreted as being a foreshadowing of the War of 1812 or the Civil War, some believe it to represent the spread of AIDS from Africa and the first invasion of The US prior to the turn of the millennium. When George chopped down the cherry tree, he could not tell lie. Is this vision another cherry tree? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Now...What do you think?? |
