Chakra Toning Bowls "Sound Background Information" Many cultures recognize the importance of music and sound as healing power. In the ancient civilizations of India, the Orient, Africa, Europe and among the Aboriginals and AmerIndians, the practice of using sound to heal and achieve balance from within has existed for many years. The Tibetans still use bells, chimes, bowls, and chanting as the foundation of their spiritual practice. In Bali, Indonesia, the echoing gamelang, gong, and drum are used in ceremonies to uplift and send messages. The Australian Aboriginals and Native American shamanists use vocal toning and repetitive sound vibration with instruments created from nature in sacred ceremony to adjust any imbalance of the spirit, emotions or physical being. The Priests of ancient Egypt knew how to use vowel sounds to resonate their energy centers or chakras. There is a direct link between different parts of the body and specific sounds. Such a technique appears extremely old, yet healing through sound goes back even further--at least as far back as Atlantis where the power of sound was combined with the power of crystal. At the present time, the Hopi American Indian prophecy is being fulfilled with the "Coming of the Rainbow People", through the keepers of the crystal bowls. What is crystal bowl music and what makes it such a powerful healing instrument? Crystal bowl music is a form of vibrational medicine which validates that everything in the universe is in a state of vibration and the frequency at which an object or person most naturally vibrates is called resonance. The chakras, bones, and organs in the body all possess a different resonant frequency. When an organ or part of the body is vibrating out of tune or nonharmoniously, it is called "dis-ease" or disease. A body is in a healthy state of being when each cell, each organ creates a resonance that is in harmony with the whole being. Vibrational medicine is based on the idea that all illness or disease is characterized by blockage in the channels on some level, ether in nadis, arteries, veins, nerves. When there is a blockage, the organ in question stops vibrating at a healthy frequency and thus it results in some kind of illness. So through sound and light one can break up, dissolve and release these blockages that initiate in our light or etheric body. Ultra sound has been used medically for almost two decades as a diagnostic tool by pediatricians while the recently ultrasound is being used to cleanse clogged arteries. Ultra sound works on the same principle of light equals sound and tone equals radiance manifesting in form. Crystal bowl music emits a pure holographic template of radiant light that corresponds to the octave of sound within our etheric body. Since sound can be translated into color, the body may be seen as visible frequency that produces an auric color field which reflects emotional states of consciousness and thus the physiological status. Kirlian photography has already verified this. The visual spectrum has therefore the same wave frequency as the auditory spectrum. There are seven musical notes that correspond to the seven colors of the rainbow and these are related to the seven main chakras, which in turn correspond to different areas of the endocrine gland system. The pure tone of crystal bowls produces a vibrational sound field which resonates the light body chakra and corresponding physical area. Crystal bowls can be used to charge objects and charge water. For example: You can work on a mental condition that you would like to change in your life, such as prosperity. The color that represents wealth in the Universe is gold. Sometimes we think of it in terms of green because of American "green" money, but that is more of a health/balance color than a wealth color. Gold is the universal symbol of wealth. So let's say you take a piece of golden quartz, golden crystal citrine, and you fill the bowl up with distilled water. You would hold the citrine in your hand, purify it with the pulsation of your breath or under running water, or however you usually purify your crystals, and then hold it up to your third eye and work with an affirmation that you want to "ingest" into your being. You might say something like, "I AM an abundant being in an abundant Universe" You program that into the crystal: You do that by saying it verbally the affirmation while holding the crystal AND imagining the affirmation being infused into the crystal. The crystal is now charged with the affirmation of your choice AND the water in the bowl is also charged with the same affirmation. You can take that water and put it into a container, preferably a crystal container and place it into the sunlight for additional "charging", or place it into a glass and drink it--thereby allowing the "charged affirmation water" to penetrate internally the physical body. People who heal with flower essences are experimenting with putting an essence on the edge or rim of the bowls, and then sending the vibration to the person to be healed. There are also people doing aroma therapy using the bowls by putting the aroma and fluid in the bowl and then "toning" into it an intention of healing, and allowing the water to evaporate into the air. By moving the bowl around someone's aura while the bowl is being "toned or played" can be very powerful. If you have an 8" or 10" bowl, you can actually hold it in the palm of one hand, and then move it around a person's aura. Also, people are aligning chakras by placing the bowl on various chakra points, such as the abdomen, and "toning" it. Never place a bowl on someone's head, or place someone's head within the bowl. If you have a complete set of chakra toning bowls, you can place the bowls in a large circle and put the person desiring a healing in the center of that circle. If you have seven people, each person strikes or "tones" a bowl in sequence. If you don't have seven people, then you have to move around the circle and tone the bowls yourself. I have experimented with several different sequence combinations in my healing circles. Sometimes people react adversely to certain bowls--don't play the ones that ring a discord with the person being healed. Play the bowls that the person WANTS to hear--that is the sound that they are lacking in their auric field. Chakra toning bowls are very delicate. You MUST keep ALL METAL OBJECTS away from the bowl. That includes rings and bracelets that you may wear on your body while you are "toning" the bowls. The bowls are very easily broken especially when they come in contact with metals. Also, never play the bowls when you are upset or angry. We have seen the crystal "absorb" the anger from the individual playing the bowl, and then watched as the bowl "shattered".
