A Dragon Spell for Self-Confidence By Kerowyn J'Karrah SilverDrake, 1998 This is a spell I wrote that was published in my friend Lilith McLelland's book The Salem Witches' Book of Love Spells.
Its purpose is to instill the confidence of a Dragon within the heart and mind of the Caster. It should be performed for the first time near or during the time of the full moon, and later whenever you feel the need for a little extra "boost."
Needed Items: -
1) Iron Shavings (or a small iron/steel nail) for strength -
2) One each of the following: -
Citrine (self-determination), -
Rose Quartz (self-esteem) -
Amethyst (courage)... choose small stones -
3) A small amount of each of the following: -
4) A 4"x4" black cloth square (black repels negativity) -
5) Three feet each of Red, Purple and Orange thread -
6) A Gold paint pen or ink pen (recommended for quick drying), or Gold paint and a brush -
7) Dragon's Blood oil or Cinnamon essential oil - genuine or "synthetic" (if you use genuine cinnamon oil be careful as it burns if gotten onto sensitive body parts, so be sure to wash your hands afterwards) -
8) One Red, Purple and Orange candle -
9) Something to carve the candles with -
10) Normal altar equipment Perform Clan Circle Casting and Quarter Calls Invite your Dragon friends
The Casting:
Step1: Inscribe the candles with the following words: Red--Strength, Purple--Self-assurance, Orange--Success Anoint each candle with the oil and chant 3 times for each candle:
Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light, Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic; Lend me your aid Lend me your guidance as this spell is made! Place the candles in their holders and light.
Step 2: Using the gold paint, draw the following Runes on the black cloth square: Sigel: for strength and self-confidence Lagaz: for increased vitality and life-force Isa: for development of self-will Remember to concentrate fully on the qualities of each Rune. Say those qualities out loud if you want. Set the cloth aside, painted side up, so it can dry.
Step 3: Charge the iron, herbs and crystals according to the indicated qualities by concentrating on each item in turn while chanting:
Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light, Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic; Lend me your aid, Lend me your guidance as this spell is made!
Continue chanting until each item "feels" as if it can hold no more energy, then turn the (hopefully dry) cloth square painted side down and place each charged item into the center of the square. Gather the four corners of the cloth together and tie into a bag using the red orange and purple thread.
Step 4: Pass the bag carefully *over* each candle in turn and say:
(Red) Strength (Orange) Success (Purple) Self-assurance
At each utterance visualize Dragon Fire of the corresponding color streaming from those Dragons who have answered your request for assistance and enveloping both the bag and you. "Feel" yourself filling with the strength and confidence of a Dragon.
Repeat the Empowerment Chant until you feel and internal signal to stop, or you "see" the stream of Dragon Fire slowly ease up until it has stopped. Commune with your Dragon friends for a while if you want, then end the ritual. Allow the candles to burn themselves out or down to the socket and hang your talisman bag where it will be the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night.
Remember to thank all the Dragons for their assistance and bid them safe journey as they return from whence they came. I then recommend "pushing" the Circle energy out to meld with the energies of your house protections... Why waste any remaining confidence-filled energy?
When calling the Dragons of the Quarters, you are asking for a willing Dragon to watch over and direct the elemental energies associated with that particular quarter/direction.
At first you will probably get several different Dragons standing in as Quarter Guards each time you cast a circle. Eventually, you may find that the same four are answering your call each time (you'll be able to tell by the "feel" of the energy each brings). If/when this happens, you can either wait until the Dragon chooses to reveal his or her name, or you can choose a name by which you will call each one (don't worry, if you pick a name the Dragon doesn't like, you'll know!).
Many Dragons actually prefer to work this latter way, taking the name as a gift. In either case, you can then substitute those names for the phrases "One who is willing" and "Great ______ Dragon" at the appropriate quarter.
East: From the lands of the Eastern Dragons comes the glorious powers of Air! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Eastern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Air. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) intellect and wisdom. Come watch over this circle that there may be wisdom in all that I (we) do! (trace invoking pentagram then raise your hand in salute) Great Eastern Dragon, hail and welcome!
South: From the lands of the Dragons of the South, comes cleansing power of Fire! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Southern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Fire. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) free-will and creativity. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may create joy and beauty! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Southern Dragon, hail and welcome!
West; From the lands of the Dragons of the West, comes the purifying power of Water! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Western Gate! Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Water. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) intuition and control over my (our) emotions. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may have the courage to listen to my inner voice and act as needed! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Western Dragon, hail and welcome!
North: From the lands of the Dragons of the North, comes the sustaining power of Earth! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Northern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery over the powers of Earth. Aid me (us) in developing strength of body, mind and spirit. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may have the strength to delve into the mysteries of the universe! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Northern Dragon, hail and welcome! |

Dragon Love Spell
This spell should be done on a Friday as close to the full moon as possible. While a formal circle casting is helpful, it is not strictly necessary. Needed Items: 1) A small wooden disk approximately 3 inches in diameter 2) A small picture of two entwined Dragons (The Lovers card from the Dragon Tarot is an excellent choice) 3) Glue 4) Crafter's sealant (optional, but recommended!) 5) Love oil, or patchouli oil (or J'Karrah's General All-purpose oil) 6) Love or patchouli incense 7) One pink candle (to attract a woman) or blue (to attract a man) 9) Rose quartz chip necklace or 9 rose quartz crystals 9) Red or pink bag big enough to hold the finished disk 10) Gold fabric paint (or gold paint pen) The day before you plan to do the ritual, you should glue the picture of the Dragons onto the disk and allow to dry. (Seal it with the crafter's sealant of you wish) On the day you will be doing the spell, gather all the required items and set up your altar. Then prepare yourself as if you were getting ready to go on your "dream date". Take a luxurious bubble bath, and dress as you would if you were going to visit the love of your life on a special occasion. When you are ready return to the altar and begin. Inscribe the candle with the following symbol inside a heart (note symbol may be modified as needed for same-sex pairing) Anoint the candle with the oil or potion while concentrating on bringing the perfect lover and partner into your life. Concentrate on the *qualities* you are looking for in a mate, not on any specific person. Place the candle in it's holder and light. If you have not already done so, light the incense as well. Pick up the wooden Dragon disk and anoint it with the oil (on the back is fine if you are concerned about the picture). Pass the disk through the incense smoke and over the candle flame while chanting nine times: Dragon lovers entwined in flight, Bring to me a love that's bright! Set the Dragon disk down in front of the candle and the Dragon disk with the rose quartz. Repeat the above chant again 9 times while visualizing pink energy coming from the rose quartz and being sucked up by the disk. When the energy transfer is complete, leave everything where it is until the candle burns itself out (or burns to with 1 inch of the holder if this is safer). While the candle is burning, take the bag and paint it with the symbol you carved on to the candle, again inside a heart, then place the bag next to the candle to dry. When the candle burning is complete, put your new Dragon love talisman inside the bag and keep it in there when you are not using it. To activate the talisman, take it out of the bag and repeat the Dragon Lover's Chant nine times just before you go anywhere. Keep the talisman with you until you return home (If you want you can put it back in it's bag and hang it on a cord around your neck under your clothing or in a handbag). When you return home, place it back in it's bag and leave the bag either on your altar or put it somewhere it won't be disturbed by housemates or family. Repeat the spell once a month on the Friday closest to the Full moon for as long as you need to. (Emails I have received seem to indicate a 3-9 month time range). |

Anger Calming Spell J'Karrah EbonDragon, 1998 | | A modified version of this spell, was published in a book written by my friend Lilith McLelland's The Salem Witches Book of Love Spells. In the book this spell can be found on page 79 under the title "Spell to Ease a Family Quarrel" under the name "Kerowyn SilverDrake" The spell should be done on a Friday night if possible, or whenever there is need of it. Formal circle casting is not necessary, but may be performed if you so desire. Needed Items: 3 light blue (or white) candles (votives are good for this) 3 pieces of light blue (or white) paper Peace Oil (or olive oil or vanilla extract) Peace Incense (or vanilla or sandalwood) A blue ink pen A fire-proof receptacle (such as an empty jar with a lid) Step 1: Inscribe each candle with 2 of the following runes: While carving the candles, be sure to visualize the person who is the object of the spell as being happy, calm and relaxed. See any problems between the two of you as having already been resolved in a way that promotes growth, mutual respect and understanding (not necessarily agreement which may not be possible... just agreeing to disagree and letting the matter drop). Step 2: Anoint each candle with the Peace Oil, again visualizing the other person and you living in harmony with all quarrels forgiven and forgotten. As you do so, chant: Dragons of hearth, Dragons of home, Stable as Earth, Stable as stone, Lend me your strength, lend me your calm Help me to make this magical balm. Step 3: Light the peace incense and light the candles. Write the person's name on each piece of paper in blue ink, and pass each one through the smoke of the incense and say: As smoke fades to nothing, so does the anger that lies between [name] and me. Let no harsh word or ill feeling remain that may cloud our hearts or minds. Light each piece of paper from a different candle and place it in the fire-proof receptacle. As you light each one, chant: Peace I send from me to you, Love I send to follow through. From this anger be set free, As I will, so mote it be! Let the candles burn themselves out if possible. If not, try to burn the candles for two hours each day/night until they burn out. If you cast a formal circle close it as usual.

On The Road: Automotive Protection J'Karrah EbonDragon, 2002 This ritual is designed to add a layer of protective shielding on your vehicle* and all those who ride within it. It won't make up for careless driving or stupid mistakes on your part, nor will it protect you from your own folly if you insist on driving while impaired due to alcohol or drug use. Like most protection spells, when working properly, you will probably not even realize it at the time that you suddenly "decided" to take a different route home than you normally travel. But when you later learn of an accident that would have either delayed your arrival or even may have wound up in the middle of, you'll know... This spell works best when attached to a talisman* that can be placed permanently within or on the vehicle. I have a decorative front plate on my vehicle with a picture of a Dragon breathing fire on it. The runes and charm of the spell were written on the back of this plate with a permanent marker and then bolted to the front of the car. Another suggestion would be to write the spell out on a piece of heavy paper or even cardboard and then kept in the glove box, placed under the driver's seat (or even *in* the driver's seat if you can open the seat covering). It is possible to cast the spell directly on the vehicle itself if this would be easier, but you will want to check the shield regularly to make sure nothing has interfered or created holes in it. * If you are so inclined, you may use the actual model name of your vehicle (Jeep, Mustang, Sentra...) instead of the generic "vehicle" or just say "car" or "truck..." Use whatever term you normally do when referring to your vehicle. The Spell Needed Items: 1: An object to be transformed into your new talisman 2: A permanent marker (black preferred but not absolutely required) or a paint pen (gold or silver preferred...) 3: Protection oil (or Dragon's Blood oil or cinnamon oil) Perform Draconic Circle Casting (optional if you are simply casting the spell directly on the car itself if doing so would prove difficult) Invoke whichever deity you normally work with. Invite your Dragon friend(s) Step 1: In the center of your "talisman" draw the following rune script (a sequence of runes used for a specific purpose): Fehu: protection of valuables Thurisaz: protection and/or defense Raidho: safe and comfortable travel Hagall: promotes security and keeps negative forces out of your space Othel: protection of possessions and family property Kenaz: use to strengthen any rune script Wunjo: success in travel Ehwaz: ensures safe travel Ing: to bring about satisfactory conclusions & to "fix" the outcome of a rune script so that the benefits do not drain away Step 2: Mark the four corners of the completed Rune Script with the protection oil while concentrating on enjoying a safe and comfortable journey any time you, family and/or friends travel anywhere within your vehicle, and chant 9 times: Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light, Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic; Lend me your aid Lend me your guidance as this spell is made! Step 3: Above the Rune Script write the following prayer: (Name of deity) bless this vehicle and all who travel within. Protect this vehicle from harm and damage, mischief and misfortune so that it and all who travel within shall always return home safely. When finished, recite the prayer 9 times while visualizing your deities wrapping an all encompassing bubble of protection around your vehicle. Step 4: Below the Rune Script write the following: Great Dragons of might and power, spread your wings of protection over this vehicle and all who travel within. May your fire destroy all misfortune or ill-chance that may cross its path. Watch over this vehicle and its passengers, guarding all from danger When finished, recite the prayer 9 times while visualizing your dragon friends wrapping adding their on layer of protection around your vehicle. Step 5: Place the newly created talisman in the place you have prepared for it. Close the circle as normal. |

Dragon Prosperity Spell | Items needed: One large green pillar candle, dragon's blood incense, incense burner and charcoal, dragon prosperity oil, a green silk pouch, five new coins (a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half-dollar), and an altar or small table.
To make dragon's blood incense, mix 1/2 tsp. dragon's blood resin with 1/2 tsp. allspice, 1/2 tsp myrrh resin, 1/2 tsp. dried orange peel, 1/2 tsp. sandalwood power. To the mixture add 3 drops cinnamon oil and 3 drops orange spice oil.
To make dragon prosperity oil, mix 5 drops cinnamon oil with 3 drops orange spice oil and 2 drops sandalwood oil in a small bottle.
The first thing you will need to do is engrave the figure of a dragon on the candle. This can be done using a ball point pen or small sculpting tool. The engraving does not have to be an elaborate work of art, just a simple outline will do.
Begin on the night of the full moon. Place the dragon candle on your altar with the incense burner in front of it. Place the coins on the left side of the candle and the silk pouch on the right side.
Light the green candle and charcoal. When the coal is glowing red, sprinkle some incense on it. Pick up the penny, hold it tightly, close your eyes and visualize the dragon in his cave. See his treasure and all the wealth he guards. In your mind's eye, slowly approach the dragon. Show the dragon your coin. Then, with great respect, ask the dragon to expand your wealth as you say:
"Oh great dragon of wealth and power, I greet thee in this sacred hour. Great good fortune on me now shower. That my prosperity shall blossom and flower."
Stay with the dragon for a short time. Listen to what he says, and take heed of his advice. When the dragon begins to fade, leave his cave and return to the present. Place the penny in the green silk pouch. Thank the dragon by saying:
"I thank thee great dragon of power and might For granting my wishes on this night."
Leave the candle to burn for four hours and then snuff it out. Repeat this spell every night until all of the coins have been placed in the green pouch. When the last coin has been placed in the pouch, allow the candle to completely burn out. The rite is now complete. (From The Witch's Master Grimoire by Lady Sabrina)
Tysha's Note! In the Uk you can use a penny, 10p, 20p, 50p, and £1 coin as the five coins needed for this spell. In other countries use your own currency

Dragon Spell to Add Power to an Object. | I have a gemstone bracelet on which I cast this spell. I find it works well if performed on the night of the full moon.
You will need: - three or more white or silver candles,
- a red candle,
- incense and holder,
- a small bowl of water,
- a small bowl of earth or salt,
- matches
- the item you want to empower.
Place the item on your altar and place the candles in a circle around it. Place the earth or salt to the north of the candle circle, the incense to the east, the red candle to the south and the water to the west. Light the candles whilst saying:
“Great Goddess J’kiri, dragon of infinite wisdom and love, I ask that you bless this work and add your power to this (name of object).?BR> Sit for a while and imagine you own personal power flowing into the object, then the power of J’kiri should join it. After the flow slows down, continue.
Light the incense and pass the object through the smoke whilst saying:
“Great Sairys, ruler of the air, I ask that you bless this work and add your power to this (name of object).?/EM>
Light the red candle and, carefully, pass the object through or over the flame, saying:
“Great Fafnir, ruler of fire, I ask that you bless this work and add your power to this (name of object).?/EM>
Sprinkle a few drops of the water onto the object whilst saying:
“Great Naelyon, ruler of water, I ask that you bless this work and add your power to this (name of object).?BR> Touch the object to the earth/salt and say:
“Great Grael, ruler of earth, I ask that you bless this work and add your power to this (name of object).?BR> Sit for a while again and feel the elemental powers joining yours and J’kiri’s in the object. If you are able to see magickal energy you should see the rainbow of colours flowing around the object but don’t worry if you can’t.
Then to close the ritual, say:
“I thank you great dragons, for coming this night, for aiding my ritual, for sharing your powers with me. Go in peace, in light and love.?/EM>
