Well this morning finds me in Albuquerque NM at my mother's mobile home on the north end of town.
When I called her over the holidays, she finally let me know how her physical state has gone down hill.
(I wish my sister had been so generous with news bulletins since she lives in ABL2Q and sees her often enough, but she wasn't.)
After talking to my husband and mother, we decided it best to wrap up her affairs here in ABL2Q and move her to WicHaven where she can be cared for on a more intense level.
So with 48 hour's notice, I packed up and hopped on a plane to go see for myself what was going on.
Twenty years ago, my mom was 5' 6" tall and in good health. She was such a commanding figure when she had retired from an aeorspace industry where she had kept scientist and genius engineers in line, and on schedule, that she had rightly earned the nick-name of "The German General". (If you were the recipient of one of her one raised eyebrows, you began to pray for your eteranal soul as a kneejerk reaction.)
I walked into her house last night to find a 5 foot tall crumpled up old lady staggering with a walker whose spine has literally crumbled. I was stunned.
What my sister seems to be concerned with is what she can glean of my mother's belongings, and now that I have announced to her that I am taking mom back to Yuma with me, she is frantic at loosing access to mother's goodies. Granted she does alot for mother, but she is a single person without a family(a.k.a kids), running her own business and her time is limited, but I also know my sister has no concept of of putting another person's needs ahead of her own and often leaves mother to fend for herself while my sister travels on vacations to exotic ports around the world for fun.
This is why I was not around last night to attend Autumn's ritual, and I sorely missed it. I was flitting around in airplanes for 7 hours and didn't arrive here until 12:30 am this morning.
Gotta get that broom working!!!!
I may be nearly 54 years old, but I still want to learn to fly and name my plane "The Broom". Maybe one day.
Anyway. I am scheduled to be back at WicHaven on the evening of Jan 1, late.
Pray that any diplomatic grace I may have aquired from being with Lady Majyk this summer comes to the forefront with my communications with my sister. This is gonna be somewhat interesting.
Love from the "Land of Enchantment"!
