2 Parts Benzoin
1 Part Cedar
1 part Pine
1 Part Juniper berries
few drops Patchouly oil

7 drams tincture Benzoin
1/2 dram Sandalwood oil
1/2 dram Myrrh oil
1/2 dram Frankincense oil
Saltpeter
1 oz powdered charcoal
pinch of dried Asafoetida
pinch of dried Blessed Thistle
pinch of dried Peppermint

The first recipe would seem to be for making a loose incense to burn on charcoals. The second seems designed for making sticks or cones.
Since the amount of saltpeter isn't given, I presume one would have to experiment a bit there to figure out what amount works best, not burning too fast or too slow. Personally, I might eliminate or at least go very lightly with the pinch of Asafeotida. Those familiar with the herb's "pungent aroma" will already know what I mean. :)
