What Your Name Number Reveals
Adapted from Numerology: A Key to Human Behavior, by Harish Johari (Inner Traditions, 1990).

The ancient system of numerology can tell you something fascinating about your nature and your chances for success, using numbers derived from the letters of your name.

What does your name number tell you? Find out from this noted Tantric scholar and expert in the Hindu traditions of Ayurveda and astrology, here:

First, figure out your Name Number. Each letter of the alphabet corresponds to a one-digit number. For instance, A is 1, B is 2, and so on, while J is also a 1, K is 2 and so on.

Here is an example. The author’s name is HARISH JOHARI.

HARISH looks like this, numerically: 8 plus 1 plus 2 plus 1 plus 3 plus 8, which equals 23.

JOHARI is 1 plus 7 plus 8 plus 1 plus 2 plus 1 which equals 20.

Add the first and last name numbers together: 23 plus 20 equals 43. Now add those two digits together: 4 plus 3 equals 7. So the author’s name number is SEVEN.

Your Name Number:

ONE
One as a name number can be beneficial. People with this name number are remembered for a long time. It facilitates progress in all areas; it is very helpful for writers, poets, musicians, actors, and leaders. The name number continues to work even after death.

TWO
This name number brings gentleness and youth. The calming effect of this number makes those who have it content and peaceful. Those with this name number finds it brings change to their lives but it can also give them success in business. This name number draws help from women, especially elderly women.

THREE
This name number is important for social relationships; society knows and remembers a person by his or her name. Three brings humor, popularity, and a willingness to help. People with the name number three are bold, trustworthy, self-disciplined, and tolerant; they make good story tellers and eloquent speakers.

FOUR
The Name Number four tends to be a bit difficult, with this number making people cautious and suspicious, and not terribly successful in business. The author suggests adopting a nickname or other name that will make your full name add up to a 1, 3, or 6. This will help you have better relationships with colleagues and protect you from secret enemies.

FIVE
This number is progressive, jovial, and alive, giving popularity and positive vibrations. It is a favorable number for writers, poets, businesspeople, bankers, sportspeople, publishers, journalists, doctors, actors, politicians, and those in the communications business.

SIX
This number imparts a friendly quality, which makes sixes easily acceptable and popular. It is most suitable for poets, artists, musicians, and dancers. It is also good for those interested in the occult sciences. Name Number six makes people kind, cooperative, sympathetic, hospitable, charitable, emotional, and sometimes unstable. They are easily attracted by internal and external beauty, both in human form and in nature.

SEVEN
This type is acceptable, friendly, scholarly, sociable, universal, and cosmopolitan. Many sevens are pioneers--as scholars, writers, artists, social scientists, reformers, or mystics. Their names continue to be known because of their original ways of thinking and their philosophic approaches.

EIGHT
While this number can make some people lonely, for others there is just enough isolation to get away from crowds of people that always surround them. This number can bring success, name, and fame, although these people sometimes do have to face hardships.

NINE
This number makes people frank, expressive, creative, and independent. It gives them strong wills and determination and the strength and endurance to bear the hardships and oppositions of life. It is a good name number for politicians, and for sportspeople, wrestlers, military people, artists, poets, musicians, composers, and saints. It brings them fame, honor, prestige, and recognition. Name Number Nine also makes people work hard, and leaves them little time for amusement or rest. It generates restlessness but also make them creative. They work to better the living conditions of the world.
