Breathing Techniques in Reiki
Breathing techniques and methods in Reiki are one of the devices that are used to help with a change of energy flow and healing. Learning the breathing techniques in Reiki is one of the first steps in knowing how to heal when going through the process of energy changes. Reiki uses what is known as deep breathing techniques. These techniques allow you to become more aware the chakras that are being tapped into for healing. It also allows you an easier access to the universal energies.
The first part to begin utilizing when breathing is the short breath. This is usually how most breathe on a regular basis. This includes breathing through the nose and feeling the upper part of the lungs before letting go of the breath. You will want to recognize the breath going in as universal energy and the breath going out as a release of negative energies.
The next step in breathing is filling your lower body where your diaphragm and stomach is located. When breathing in, you should see your belly moving outwards. When you release the breath, your stomach should move back in. Filling your body with this type of breath is known to be a full breath that is used often in meditation.
The third breathing technique is picturing that you are filling your rib cage with air. This will make a complete full breath. When you are breathing completely, you should be filling your lungs first, then your diaphragm, and then allow the breath to move into your ribs. This will allow you to slow down and will allow your deep breathing to help with calling in universal energies.
Part of the breathing technique in Reiki is imagining light in relation to these breaths. When you are breathing in, you should be aware that there is a light that is filling your different chakras through the breath. Through your thoughts, you can direct the light into any area that you wish. This will help you begin to move the different energies that have been blocked.
Many will use these breathing techniques not only for Reiki, but also for several different types of meditation. By concentrating on the breath, one is able to move into a more relaxed state. They will also be able to change their conscious level. By doing this, they will allow the universal energies to begin to move through them, while using the Reiki technique.
The Reiki breathing techniques are best when used consistently and in a disciplined manner. If practicing Reiki outside of a classroom or without a practitioner, then the breath is the first step to being able to use Reiki techniques as a method of healing.
Knowing the techniques for breathing can easily help in making the rest of the Reiki process more fulfilling. Deep breathing is also healthy and good for your mental state when used on a consistent basis in allowing you to relax and remain in a healed state of mind as well as giving you a more balanced body through the use of your breath.
