If you become interested in healing or becoming a Reiki practitioner, then you will have to go through several levels of training. When one is beginning this process, there are several unknown things that may occur in the training. While each different type of beginning Reiki training will differ, there are set guidelines that you can expect when going to both Reiki levels I and II for your training.
Reiki 1 accomplishes the goal of allowing you to know and understand how to heal yourself and others. Usually, Reiki 1 levels have intense day courses for this purpose. Those attending the training will begin with a lecture that helps to define what Reiki is. Here, one will learn the basic definition of Reiki. They will then learn the principles that Reiki uses in training. The history of Reiki will then be established for those learning Reiki.
From here, Reiki training will move into an understanding of what the different chakras are. This will move into meditations, understanding and feeling energy, and learning the four Reiki attunements. At this point, those being trained in Reiki 1 will be able to use these attunements to open their own chakras. After this, Reiki 1 practice will include learning the hand positions used for treating yourself, as well as the hand positions used for treating others.
From here, the Reiki 1 methods will move into different practical aspects of Reiki. This includes case studies, how to conduct a Reiki healing session, and different exercises that can be used in the practice of Reiki. The Reiki treatment will be practiced on yourself and others during this first level course. Many will use the next month as a cleansing period in order to continue to change and grow as well as practice Reiki after this training.
The level 2 Reiki training will focus on opening up additional energy centers. At this point, a review will be given of Reiki 1 treatments. New attunements and symbols will be added to the practice in order to help with opening up the energy centers. Different healing techniques and healing events will be practiced on the students. This will often include the practice of distance healing. This training will conclude with more practical techniques that you can use when practicing Reiki.
Once you have gone through these two sessions, you will have gained several different techniques in order to be able to practice Reiki on others as well as yourself. You will then be able to go back into your home and continue to heal and grow from the process. These training levels are each designed to give you methods and uses for healing energies.
After you have completed each session, you will have the choice of continuing with master Reiki training sessions where you will be given a certificate in order to be able to practice. However, if you decide to only do levels 1 or 2 of the Reiki method, you will still have plenty of tools that you can use to channel energy and heal.
