DAILY RITUALS FOR THE LABYRINTH
Simple ritual in the Labyrinth can mark the beginnings and endings throughout the day, allowing you to be more open to the presence of spirit in your life and more conscious of your intentions.
RITUAL
A ritual can be an elaborate celebration or a simple one like this one for honoring the day, and inviting light into your life.
do a protection meditation starting at the crown of you head imagine white light from the universe shining down on you and entering your crown filtering into your third eye chakra indigo, and into your throat chakra, blue and then to your heart chakra which is green, reveling in your power chakra, yellow to your sacral chakra, which is orange and finally to you sexual chakra which Is red and all this filters throughout you body which goes back up and out through your crown and falls back down in a colorful protection of light.
Light candles at the entrance usually white or you can use green or blue to represent health or love, invoke the spirit of place by stating your intention and inviting spirit to help and join you, enter the labyrinth and as you near the first outside turn light the candle of that direction. (Depending on how the Labyrinth is laid out) and invoke that direction, (watchtower, spirit or whatever feels right) till all outside direction candles are lit.
As you enter the center, light the candles there. they can be one,or one for each the Goddess and God and one for you, the self candle is for your searching, the one that will help with your daily walk. Become clear of you intentions here and ask for spirit to help guide you throughout the day, you may pause her for a time and, when you are ready, douse the God and Goddess candles pick up the self candle, and walk slowly, concentrating on the flame and walk the spiral out (this is very helpful for you will find that while concentrating on the flame, you’ve found your answer.) Extinguish the direction candles as you go thanking, or accept their blessing and rejoicing in their presence.
At the exit which was the entrance before extinguish the candles there step out and turn to the Labyrinth accepting its blessing, and ending the ritual, this can be daily, weekly, or monthly depending on time.
Lighting the candles is a way of giving a blessing to the labyrinth and creating this sacred space, and for welcoming anyone spirit or animal who wants to, to show up and walk the spirals.
You can also change this to an ending of the day or a transition from the hustle of the workday to the calm of the evening, and get your frustrations of coworkers, or job stress out of your mind to rest. |
