Cleansing Crystals

Cleansing
 Rinse the crystal in cold running water, point down. Letting unwanted energies go down the drain. If the crystal has had a particularly heavy workout, add a little salt to the mix and soak. Rinse when done. I only recommend salt for really heavy emotional or psychic residue. You may also smudge your crystals with sage or a myriad of other wonderful incense, resins or gums.

Sea Salt Clearing

To clear a crystal, gem, or mineral with sea salt, you will need:

• 1 cup of purified water
• 1/8 cup of sea salt
• A glass or bowl

Place the water in the glass or bowl. Add sea salt. Put your stone in the water and sea salt solution. Let it stand overnight, or dowse the water with your pendulum to see if the stone is clear. This can be determined with a “yes�?or “no�?answer.

Earth Clearing

To clear a crystal, gem, or mineral with earth, find a secluded place out doors. Dig until you reach a point where the earth is fresh, usually about six inches down. Plant the stone in the whole and cover it up with dirt. Mark the spot with a large rock. If you don’t have access to the outdoors, bury the stone in a flower pot. Keep the stone buried overnight, or dowse the spot with your pendulum to determine if the stone is clear and ready to come out.

Sun Clearing

To clear a stone with sunlight, first make sure it is colorfast (usually, colored quartz crystals such as citrine and amethyst fade in the sun.) Then, simply wait for a sunny day and place the stone outside for several hours. Dowse the stone to see if it has soaked up enough rays.

Natural Water Clearing

Go to the shallow bank of a river or stream. Place the stone to be cleared in a fine mesh pouch ( you can cut the foot off a nylon stocking). Secure the pouch so that is doesn’t wash away in the water, and leave it overnight.

Smudge Clearing

To smudge clear a stone, place sage, cedar, or copal herbs in a shell or heat proof container. Facing East, light the herbs and offer the smoke to the directions. Have the stones to be smudged ready in front of you. You can fan the smoke over the stones, or hold the stone over the smoke. Pray to the Lord and Lady asking that the stone be cleared of all harmful vibrations.
