Untangling Spell
by: Cerridwen Iris Shea

Get nine ribbons, cords, or lengths of yarn, each in a different color.

Place them on a cloth and mix them up.

Take a deep breath and say:
"Lachesis, Clotho, Atropos, Fates Three, help me to unravel this
mystery. As I organize these strands in a row, may my life make sense to
know."

Untangle all nine threads and place them in a row. Take three, knot them off, and braid them. Repeat with three more, then three more.

You should end up with three braided cords. Braid these cords together and carry it with you. Your answers will come in surprising and often beautiful ways

Untwisting Spell To Straighten Out Your Life
Author Unknown

You'll need:
An onion
A knife
A spiral candle
An essential oil
Incense or music

Dress the candle at least one day before you do the spell. You will be naming this candle for the person to be untwisted, so choose whatever color seems right to you. Turn the candle wick-down over a paper towel.Fill the eye dropper with the essential oil or whatever you are using. This should also be appropriate, such as ginseng for a male, rose hips for a female, or a plant that you associate with the person or their problem. Say, "I name this candle for _____". Slowly turn the candle to the left as you drip the oil on it, allowing it to spiral downward. As
you do this, concentrate on the person and exactly how and why they are screwed up. It will drip, so be sure to have a cloth or paper towel beneath it. Leave the candle there to dry overnight. It should have flecks of dried oil all over it. Put the candle in a holder once dry.
You can do the spell immediately, or leave the dressed candle on your altar or in a windowsill until you are ready for it.

Put the candle, knife and onion on your altar or working surface. Light incense or play some music to make sacred space. Say, "Onion, I name you for _____. As I cut away this skin, I make you ready for transformation. I remove your resistance to it."

Cut the top layer off the onion, then light the candle. Begin to cut into the onion, peeling away layer after layer until you come to the bulb at its center. Concentrate on the person as you do this, naming your purpose aloud as you go. Say whatever feels right, things like "I cut away your negativity" or "I remove those who have bad influence over you". If the onion bulb is a double one, cut the smaller one away. Remove all these parts of the onion from the altar, wash your hands and the knife, clean the surface where you worked.

The candle should still be burning, with the onion bulb in front of it. Focus on the candle, make it the person you are trying to help. Imagine that it untwists them as it burns. Raise power and command, "Do not resist me as I untwist thee, do not resist me as I untwist thee." Repeat
this as many times as feels necessary, allowing the candle to burn down completely. Think about exactly what you mean by untwisting, what changes you want to see the person make in themselves and their life.

The onion peelings represent all that was wrong with the person so get them out of your house immediately, burn or otherwise destroy them. Whenthe candle has finished burning, set the onion bulb on a windowsill or in some other place where the morning sun will reach it. I use an
eastern window for this. Tell it (the person) that they will be reborn in the morning with the sun, that everything is going to be all right.

The last time I did this spell I left the onion overnight in a circle of rock crystals and dried red roses, atop my pentacle. You can arrange whatever feels right to you for the onion, or just leave it there alone. Plant the bulb the next day, doing so indoors if the earth is too cold outside for this. This act will serve to ground the power you raised. If the onion happens to take root and bloom, that is a wonderful sign the spell has worked.

This spell should work within a few days even if the onion simply withers. If the person is extremely screwed up, you will have to do other things to further empower the spell. Some suggestions:

Cast it at midnight when the moon is full.
Cast a circle before performing the spell.
Take a symbolic shower afterward, imagining you are washing the person's problems away - then dress in white or in new clothes make a bonfire for the person, into which you throw heads of garlic and everything that symbolizes their problems, destructive behaviors, negativity or
whatever.  Administer a potion or sprinkle a powder where they will walk through it, something charged for positive improvements. Arrange for other witches to also work on this person, each witch in his or her own way.

Untangling Deception Spell

Color of the day: Lavender
Incense of the day: Narcissus

Today is mystery writer Agatha Christie’s birthday (1890?976). The Full
Moon is a perfect time to seek clarity and untangle deception, either
from others or from ourselves. Gather together a clear glass bowl or a
silver metal bowl and ten yards or more of yarn in the color of your
choice. Under the Full Moon, preferably outdoors, cast a circle and
create sacred space in your preferred manner. Tangle—but don’t knot—the
yarn, while chanting, “In my life I perceive deception, tangled up and
clouding perception.?When the yarn is tangled but not knotted, place it
in the bowl. With a deep breath, hold the bowl up to the Full Moon and
ask, “O Mother Goddess, bright one. Illuminate my perception and bring
me clarity.?When you feel she’s filled your bowl with her clear wisdom,
lower it. Slowly remove the yarn by pulling one end and ensuring that it
is removed as a single strand. Open your heart and mind to hear the
wisdom that will come as you unwind the yarn. Thank the Moon goddess and
close your circle as you are accustomed. Place the yarn on your altar
for one Moon cycle and then burn it or bury it.

Ups and Downs Spell

Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Alder

The first roller coaster opened on this day in 1884 on Coney Island, New
York. There are times when our lives seem like a roller coaster; it all
makes a confusing mess. A little candle magic can help sort things out.
Make a list of the things that are creating chaos in your life: a column
of good things and a column of bad. Bring candles in an assortment of
colors to your sacred space. Begin by centering and grounding. Start
lighting candles, matching colors to issues, saying a wish as you light
it. Reframe the bad things in your life as wishes. For example, light a
red one and say “This is for the love and passion in my life; long may
it continue.?Another example is to light a blue candle and say, “This
is for the broken water heater, may it be repaired.?When you are done,
admire the lighted candles. Then chant “All my wishes will come true?BR>several times. Raise the energy by repeating the word “true?until the
energy is sent into the universe. Thank the spirits for their blessings
and extinguish all the candles with “blessed be.?BR>

Vehicle Protection Amulet

Color of the day: Scarlet
Incense of the day: Ginger

At noon, face south and place a red or white candle in a glass dish.
Place a garnet in the dish and sprinkle the stone and candle with a
pinch of salt, dried dill, and dried basil. Add some ground dragon’s
blood if you have it. Light the candle. Visualize the energy from the
candle infusing the stone and herbs and repeat the following:

Fire, flame infuse this stone
To shield, protect and guard
From vandals, thieves,
Or any threat?BR>Keep away all harm.

After the candle burns out and cools, collect the stone and any loose
herbs and place them in a red drawstring bag. Keep this bag in your
vehicle or carry it with you.

Votive Candle Offering

Color of the day: Blue
Incense of the day: Magnolia

St. Lucy is depicted in a white gown, crowned with glowing candles and
bearing sweets and coffee or mulled wine. Treat yourself to something
sweet and make a votive offering. The simple act of lighting a candle
can be a profound spiritual expression when accompanied with sincere
intent. Most of us light candles so often that it has become routine.
But this time, be mindful of what light gives us, what your candle
stands for. Recall how it must have felt to discover fire. Imagine how
awe-inspiring it must have been to behold something so powerful and
mysterious long ago. Candles have been part of spiritual traditions for
centuries; votive actually means “offering.?Tonight, light a candle for
something meaningful to you. If you make candles, pour a special one for
today.
