Spell to Lose Weight

Color of the day: Orange
Incense of the day: Hyacinth

Do you have cravings for a particular
food or drink that you know puts on
the pounds? Using the repelling
properties of garlic (I'm speaking
magically here), this sure-fire spell
works best during a waning Moon. Take
a potato chip or a piece of cookie, or
whatever the food is that causes your
weight to soar, and bury it in your
garden or at the bottom of a planter.
Add soil. Say:

"Let garlic's magic radiate
Repel, repel, don't hesitate
I give it up
And lose the weight!"

Plant three cloves of garlic on top.
Water as you would any plant. As the
garlic grows, your cravings will
lessen.

What A Wonderful World Meditation

Color of the day: Silver
Incense of the day: Lily

Today is Louis Armstrong’s birthday, who sang a well-known version of
the song “What a Wonderful World.?Find a quiet natural spot outdoors.
Take three deep breaths and connect with Mother Earth. Breathe deeply
and look around until your attention is focused on one object—perhaps a
leaf, a tree, or blade of grass. Focus on it for three breaths and then
close your eyes. As you breathe deeply, extend your consciousness toward
it, feeling its spirit emerge. Ask permission to move closer and ask it
to share its wonder with you. Meld with its spirit, seeking its wisdom.
Feel, hear and see the marvels you’re shown. When it is time, thank the
spirit and move back to your body and own sense of individuality. Leave
an offering of cornmeal and give thanks to the being and the wonderful
world all around.

Wellness Massage Oil

Color of the day: Orange
Incense of the day: Hyacinth

Massage is good for both body and soul, and certain aromas can
change your whole outlook on life. This special oil relaxes you as it
gets your energy flowing and can be used both as a perfume and massage
oil. Blend six teaspoons of extra-virgin or cold-pressed olive oil with
nine drops of the essential oils of cedar and chamomile. As you pour the
blended oils into a brown or cobalt glass bottle, visualize yourself
filled with light, revitalized by the Sun and these sacred herbs. You
are purified and strengthened by this oil. Placing your hands around the
bottle, fill it with this energy. Keep in a dark, cool place and warm
slightly before using.

Spell for Wisdom from the Moon

Color of the day: Orange
Incense of the day: Juniper

Did you know that Full Moons last three days? All the documented
effects of the Full Moon (from changes in the crime rate to changes in
fish behavior) last from the day before Full until the day after Full.
So today you can use Full Moon energy even though tomorrow is when the
Moon is Full. Sit in a circle of white candles and light them in
clockwise sequence. Hold up a mirror so that it catches candlelight and
your face. If you are outdoors, catch moonlight in the mirror as well as
(or instead of) candlelight. Feel moonlight rushing into the mirror,
into your face. Ask the goddess to tell you your path for the next
month. Receive her wisdom through the Moon. Meditate on what you
receive. When ready, thank the goddess and let the candles burn down on
their own.

Water Healing

Color of the day: Yellow
Incense of the day: Marjoram

The sea has many magical and healing properties. In ancient
Scotland, people treated certain ailments by using the water taken from
the crests of nine waves and boiling nine stones in this water. Another
option was to take water from nine springs or streams in which cresses
grow, and boil the stones in that. At the time of the great harvest
festivals (which could last for a week or more), people led their horses
down to the edge of the water and had them swim through the waves for
healing and protection in the year to come. Here is a water charm which
you can use at the sea or any other body of water:

By the power
Of the ninth wave,
With the magic
Of the nine stones,
I wash away
What does not serve.
Blessings of water
I now invoke.
May the Gods of the river, and the spirits of the sea,
Bless me with your healing,
As your power
Flows through me.

A Wedding Spell

Color of the day: Gray
Incense of the day: Sage

Use the wild grasses growing now to create this wedding spell. The
couple who are going to be wed should perform this spell alone. The
bride and groom should go into a field and each cut a small bouquet of
grasses, clover, daisies, or whatever else is in season. Next, shape the
bouquet of grasses into the form of a human figure—the bride shaping a
woman; the groom a man. Using more grass, tie the figures together and
say: “Hand to hand, heart to heart. Never shall we part.?To complete
the spell, dig a round hole amid the growing grass and place the figures
in the soil. As you cover the figures with soil, in unison say: “Our
love has no beginning, our love has no end. And, like the Earth is
round, the Sun is round, the Moon is round, together forever we are bound.?BR>

When Witches Gather Rain
By Theitic

Witches have always known the special meaning of nature's acts. They are
warnings, blessings and magic guides to our living in the world around
us. Rain is
a special gift from the sky and its power should be used wisely. Try
never to
shelter yourself from its fall, but rather accept the rain as we should
accept life with all of its trials and blessings.

* Rain while the sun shines is a healing rain. Catch and store it in blue
glass. Use the water for all manner of healing magic. Place in the bath
for an
overall body cleaning.

* The blessing of fairies is upon anyone who catches rain in a
silver spoon after the rain has bounced off a flat stone. Place
some of this water on any object that is frequently misplaced. Keys are
always a good choice.

* Place midnight rain of a New Moon on the third eye to bring
visions and see future events.

* The first rain gathered in May is symbolic of May Day dew and holds much
power. It is used when very special favors are needed. Do not gather
this rain
in a metal container or its power will be lost. A glass or wood
container would
do much better.

*When rain runs off a gravestone, gather carefully and use with caution.

*Rain gathered during a thunderstorm holds much energy and can be used to
enhance spells and potions. But be aware that the energy does not last
long and
the spell should be completed before three days and three nights have
passed or
the rain water will be of little use.

* House plants enjoy the outdoor rain - this cleanses their leaves and helps
to purify the indoor air when they are brought back in the home. This is
especially good to do when you are in need of a clear mind and strong
thought.

* Jewelry, charms and other objects can be purified by standing in the rain,
facing west and tossing the object into the air, three times, catching it in
your hands each time,

* The sound of the rain carries the voices of the water spirits. Listen to
the sound of the rain and enjoy the gifts of the undines. They will
speak to you
of love and friends.

The wise also realize that rain is just one aspect of nature. We should look
to the wind, trees, lightning, fire, stones, and other forms of nature's
expression for clues to the magic of the world.

Worry Stone Spell

Comfort a loved one with a thoughtful gift—a blessed worry stone to
keep in their pocket. Take a leisurely walk by a river bank, pond, or
ocean beach, and ask the land spirits to lend you a stone. Let your
intuition guide you to a smooth, pleasing stone that sits well in the
palm of your hand. Wash it in the water, and thank the spirits for
their gift. Leave a natural gift of birdseed, nuts, or acorns nearby.
If possible, set the stone out in moonlight for three days. Anoint the
stone with a drop of oil to enhance your intention. Rosemary,
peppermint, or bergamot are all appropriate. Give your gift during the
waxing Moon, and bless the receiver with love.

Winter Spell Against World Hunger

You will need:

waxed paper
1 large jar peanut butter
1 small bag wild birdseed
large microwave-proof bowl
large spoon
knife
yarn needle
thin green ribbon or yarn

Cover the work area with waxed paper.  Empty the peanut butter into the bowl.  Put the bowl into the microwave oven for one minute, checking and stirring the peanut butter every twenty seconds.  Remove it from the microwave and stir in the birdseed, adding it a little at a time.  Continue adding birdseed, until stirring becomes difficult.
Turn out the "dough" onto the waxed paper, and shape it into a rectangle approximately a half inch thick.  Wrap the dough in waxed paper and place in the freezer for one hour.
After an hour, the dough will have "set" well enough to cut it easily.  (if not, return it to the freezer and check it every fifteen to twenty minutes.)  Cut the dough into 2-inch squares.
Thread the needle with the yarn or ribbon.  Draw the needle through the center top of a square, then cut the ribbon, leaving about 8 inches of length.  Continue the process until each square has a ribbon through it.  Return the squares to the freezer and leave them for twenty-four hours.
The next day, take the squares outside and tie them to tree branches for the birds to eat.  When the lst one is tied, open your arms to the sky and chant to the Sun and Sky:

I feed the birds a festive meal.
I nourish them with foodstuffs real.
And as they find this pleasant feast
So will my human siblings eat.
Remove the hunger from all life
So that Your human children thrive.
Give them plenty -- fill them up
With nourishing food on which to sup.
Kill starvation, it must die
This I will -- by Sun and Sky!!

Water Powder for Abundance
* Herbs:
     * Apple
     * Chamomile
     * Elder
* Essential Oils:
     * Lemon
     * Orange
     * Pine
* Colors:
     * Blue
     * Gold
     * Violet

To create this wishing powder, simply gather together the ingredients listed (herbs, essential oils, and colored glitter & confetti), a bowl for mixing (I recommend a plastic bowl with a lid since it is much easier to shake a powder together than to stir), and any measuring cups or spoons you prefer to use. You may also like to purchase a mortar and pestle to help break up large chunks of herbs.

Once you have all your equipment ready, measure each ingredient into the bowl. Cover your bowl tightly with its lid and shake vigorously until the ingredients are well blended. To empower your magickal powder, visualize what you would like the powder to accomplish ?money in your bank account, your perfect soul mate, or the excited face of your best friend when you present her with a special birthday wishing powder. Hold this image in your mind at least until you have finished shaking. Ideally, you will be thinking about this purpose throughout the whole creation process ?from gathering ingredients to packaging the finished powder ?to give your magick as much energy as possible. You may even wish to chant a special incantation over your powder!

To package your finished powder, you may measure it into small plastic zipper bags, pour them into small glass vials or plastic tubes, or even store them in the bowl you used to create them. The possibilities are nearly endless! Just remember to label the powder once you've packaged it and include a list of ingredients and instructions for use.

Writer's Block Chant

When I hit major writer's block while working on my novel, I wrote this little chant. I repeat it until I feel the energy flowing in my hands and then I find I am able to just type away. No more writer's block.

Goddess Bridgit, giver of the gift of words and creativity,
Bestow your gifts upon me now so that creativity may flow from me.

Wishing on a Star

Color of the day: Brown
Incense of the day: Bay laurel

The Moon is cresting in Aquarius. In the Major Arcana of the tarot, the
Star card corresponds to this zodiacal sign. The Star can represent
hope, faith, and the promise of a guiding light. Try this simple tarot
spell if you need a wish granted and there’s a cloud cover in the night
sky. Perch the Star card upon your altar. Light a lavender candle as the
crescent Moon rises. Quieting your mind and softening your gaze, allow
the vision of the eight-pointed star to become a beacon of sparkling
light, glimmering in the twilight. Point your wand or right index finger
directly at the star. Feel its warm magic and begin to chant:

Star of wishes
That come true,
Light my way
And guide me to
A vision of
My future prize.
Illumine where
My fortune lies.

State your wish and wait for the answer by closing your eyes, breathing
into total relaxation, and engaging your intuitive voice. Hear it
whisper to you.
