Rose Petal Tea

Flowers -flavored teas are quite available these day, but it is economical and fun to make you own. As with most China teas, these are meant to be drunk without milk, and are suitable for drinking with sweet foods,
or as the perfect accompaniment to Chinese oriental meals.

*
2 tbsp scented dried rose petals (pink or red)
*
1/2 cups black Chin tealeaves (such as Oolong)

1. if the roses are complete dried heads, then strip off the petals and use just the largest out-side ones. Measure out the tea.

2. Scatter the petals over the tealeaves and stir them together.
3. Pack the tea into suitable containers for storing or to give as gifts. Little wooden or cardboard gift boxes are ideal for the purpose.

4. To present the box of tea as a gift, add a soft ribbon bow and finish off with a single dried rose as decoration.

You can also make these teas with the above measures. Jasmine, hibiscus, or orange-blossom tea in exactly the same way, Jasmine has a strong scent, so use half the quantity you would use for rose petals, mixed into the same amount of tea.

You may need to experiment and taste, until you have the proportions that you like, as dried flowers
vary in their scent and flavor, depending on the age.
