I wanted to share the sun that I came up with this year. Many years ago as christians we were questioned once whether we could give up our usual christmas tree or not and of course we were even given bible verses about cutting down a tree and decorating it. But it did get me thinking and I came up with a manger type unit that we used every christmas for quite a few years. Then three years ago, I took that same basic idea and got rid of the manger, and back boards and added a hammock and a background made of fishing net and blue lights. This year, I again altered the idea and scrapped the hammock and the fishing net, added a large sun with lights for Winter Solstice and the return of the sun.
I have had trouble with the sun, but I now have a pattern for a more permanent one made of light weight wood and one that has all of the stars spaced out correctly. So next year, I'll have all of the flaws worked out. But this is what the first draft looks like. Please be kind, remember this is just the prototype of sorts. However, between the sun and all of the lights that we have put up, in the evenings, we never really need lamps much at all. Many blessings.
