I think of it like the cheat sheet you used in Lesson 3 (3 layers with 3 layers of glitter). I looked at the glitter/ribbon layers as having borders of glitter, instead of lines. So the way I often make mine is, I used the same glitter (or ribbon) for the three med. sized layers and I used the same glitter outside of those layer. This is hard to explain: I did it in this pattern:
1)Text Box
2)glitter
3)Ribbon or glitter
4)glitter
5)Tile
6)glitter
7)Ribbon or glitter
8)glitter
9)Tile
10)glitter
11)Ribbon or glitter
12)glitter
All the reds are the same glitter/ribbon and all the blues are the same ribbon/glitter.
Again, there are no rules on the pattern you use.. and this is just one way I do it. Others may have a different approach.
The possibilites and combinationsare endless!
After you have your tiles/glitters/ribbons added. Then hide your borders:

~Change the WIDTH box to zero

And one more tip: start from the inside (the layer next to the text box) and work down. This way only one layer will fill at a time.
