very difficult when you never played before but what you can do , to know how things go , is go to a table and click on a seat click on kibitz and look how all players gets 13 cards . ( 52 : 4 = 13) and how the cards are valued ace=4pnt K =3 pnts Q is 2 pnts and a jack = 1
there are 4 suits from low to high we call club , dia , heart , spade.

in every suit is an ace a King a Queen and a Jack
so in every suit are 10 points ( 4+3+2+1)

4x10 is 40 points in the total.

now look how many points you need to open and in what suit )) almost ever you need 13 points and at least 4 crds to open . the logic is that when you have 13 there are still 27 pnts shared over 3 hands = 9
your 13 + ( supposed) 9 = 22 points

when you and your P have 22 p opps have 18 ( 40-22)

4 points is the value of an ace , so theoratical you can make 1 trick more than opps))

a trick is when all 4 players did play 1 crd.= 1 trick

there are total 13 tricks.

My advice is go and observe first a little and try to learn how the game is played)))

have a nice time in club good luck and success
