Hamada gave you the reasoning for opening 1C on weak 55 black suited hands. The reason I have for always opening 1S, is that I do not like losing the spade suit when opps interfere in hearts and I am unable to bid my hand for fear of sounding too strong.

With the weak 55 I have a problem here. I always open 1S with black 55 hands. |
