This hand cost us 1st.  We will ignore for the moment that I misdefended and we can beat 2S which also would give us 1st.

My question is what should I  bid instead of the red pass.  Since north was a passed hand south will  not take the 2S as forcing and given my spd holding it's unlikely pard will be able to bid.

i can understand passing 2S with those ugly holdings in the majors and pard has no bid too.

I would pass as well on this auction. When RHO bids spades it sounds as if he is short in hearts.  LHO may be short in spades (which he is)...

and partner can do nothing either...  She does not have enough information to know that you have such length in clubs with no heart losers between you.

Question:
Would others play the 2 spade bid as forcing on this auction if the 2 heart bidder were NOT a passed hand?  I wouldn't...  just wondered about others.

I would prefer (but defer to partner's preference) that 2S advance to a weak 2H jump overcall be forcing. If advancer is not strong and does not fit hearts, then stop bidding right now. I do not like partner's to rescue me (from the pan into the fire). But good hands can be held by advancer and we need a way to investigate best strain/level for those.

I confess passing looks very lucrative here once the misfit is announced. All you have is clubs.

I do tho think a trump lead is almost mandatory.
