a problem.
I want to bid 4 hearts but i won't know what to do if opps bid 4 spades (which is quite likely)...

and I am not sure that a 3 diamond bid here is very helpful either.

What would 2nt be here?

I bid 4H as I wanted the opps to have more of a guess whether to bid 4S at unfavorable. If I bid it slow I "know" a 3S bid is coming on my left. The problem came from pards point of view as 4H sounded preemptive so 5H was bid when 4S was going down.

100% of blame to North, for bidding on with such an extremely defensive hand -- one trick less declaring than partner expects, because of the missing heart, and a correspondingly increased chance that a heart will cash.

That's assuming your style allows for the 2H opening, which isn't something I like to see my partners do in first seat on KQ754 even at favorable.

6 points and a 5 card heart suit opening 2H in first seat..... is this a new style coming to light?  I would be a very irritated opp when I realized the north holding

Maybe North  forgot that  Muiderberg 2H ( weak 5h/4+minor ) was not on the card.

I wouldn't dream of opening that North hand a Muiderberg 2H at IMPs (or a weak 2), let alone sac over 4S. Unlucky for South.

We dont have 5 cards suits as part of our agreements as evidenced by my 4H bid but I like the bid. I just don't think a weak 2 bidder is allowed to take another bid regardless of the hand even if they think my bid shows weakness, not strength.

Agree! There are some exceptions if you use fit jumps and fit non-jumps. Those responses "turn opener's judgement back on". But when responder raises to game, the purpose is ambiguous - responder knows, the opps do not, and opener is NOT invited to speculate.
