Blake Shelton and his Team Shelton choir came in third on NBC's Clash of the Choirs this week, with Nick Lachey and his choir taking the title.

The show took five artists and had them organize a choir from their hometown. Patti LaBelle was second with her singers from Philadelphia.

"I couldn't be prouder of this group of talented and energetic young people - they've worked hard the last three weeks and it's amazing how they have jelled - both vocally and as a team," said Shelton. "I'm not disappointed at all - I've had the time of my life and was thrilled we made it to the finals."

"And then when they announced that GE was donating $50,000 to each of the charities of the choirs that didn't win - it just made everything that was already great even better. To be able to present Project Rebuild and the MWR this money just gives me the best feeling in the world."

Others on the show were Michael Bolton and Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child.

On Monday evening, Team Shelton performed "Life Is A Highway" and was recognized on Tuesday evening as receiving enough votes to keep them in the top three choirs as Team Rowland was eliminated from the competition. Tuesday evening they performed an energetic rendition of "Takin' It To The Streets" by the Doobie Brothers.

On Wednesday, Shelton learned their placement had dropped and the votes placed them in the bottom two spots with Team Bolton. After Team LaBelle and Team Lachey performed it was announced that indeed Team Shelton was still in the competition, and Team Bolton was eliminated. Though voting was completed after Wednesday night's show, Team Shelton continued by singing "Boondocks" and "Celebration."
