No-Bake Holiday Ornament Cookies

Ingredients

1

cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips

1/3

cup (5-1/3 tablespoons) butter

15

large marshmallows

1

teaspoon vanilla

2

cups Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

Nonpareils in holiday colors

Red and green candy jimmies

Tiny holiday-shaped candy decorations

Flaked, sweetened coconut

Preparation Steps

In large saucepan, melt chocolate, butter and marshmallows over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, then oats; mix well. Cool slightly.

Line 2 cookie sheets with waxed paper. Working with 1 tablespoon chocolate-oat mixture, form into a ball and roll in desired candy or coconut to cover completely. Place on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining oat mixture and coatings.

Refrigerate ornaments until firm, about 30 minutes. Transfer to airtight container, separating layers with waxed paper. Store in a cool place.
