Did your family say "I love you" lots and show affection with ease while growing up? Do you show that kind of affection easily and often with your kids, spouse, your parents, now that you are older?

I do with my mom and kids, Rex would like more affection but with him it is always about sex........we go thru stages though where we are very loving and showy.

I always have. I'm a very affectionate person. I will give the boys hugs and kisses all day long just because. DJ in fact has picked up on this and does the same thing. I used to with Don. It is weird though because as a child there was never open affection. In fact his fathers' relationship with his mother was an abusive one so they never got hugged or anything like that on a regular basis. As a result, Don has a hard time with it. He does well with the kids but with me there are times when he doesn't even want to hug in public. At home he doesn't just hug me out of the blue but I don't think I have ever questioned that he loved me either so it doesn't really bother me
