I would have probably told already, LOL I dont know if I am big enough to take that kind of blame even if it is for the best for the child! And yes I am an emotional person in a heated situation and often say things I wish I could take back later so I could totally see myself spilling it!

For a 13 year old, yeah, I would have.  I would try to do it nicely so as not to make her hate her father, but, well, ya know.
