Well it has kinda slipped my mind to make this announcement, I know how could I when its HUGE but I think with how busy I have been I just have been posting when I could etc....

Soooo obviously the big boy bed is about to happen.
(thought we had a post but it was Ella's big girl bed post I was thinking of! lol, so I made a newby)

We were gonna do it last weekend but unfortunately we got too busy with 3 parties on so its now.....

THIS weekend!!
So the bed is moving into his room on Saturday morning and the first test run will be his Saturday sleep and then so on and so forth.

I am excited, a lil sad, even a lil nervous. I dont know how he will go but it shall be interesting to see and we are doing the weekend thing so we are both here for support, lol.
Of course I have been given lots of 'advice' from well meaning ppl who have done it already or before about keep the cot in the room and if it doesnt work put him back in etc etc, but as you girls know me by now I am a person who decides its time to do something and it just gets done.
So once that bed is in his room the cot is coming out and thats it, he learns to have a big bed.
I was the same with getting rid of dummy, bottles, even probly as far back as sleeping thru the night, I decide to do it and there is no going back type of thing iykwim.

soooo wish us luck!!
I shall keep you updated!

Good Luck. I think he will ease into is new bed with minimal distruption!!!
Well I can be a well meaning person who says.....Get that cot DOWN and OUT as soon as the bed is up!!! lol
The day Soph went into a bed we actually made a deal out of it one saturday morning and Jake, myself and soph all helped take her cot down first and said bye bye to the cot and then yay hello big bed as Jake put the new bed together and sophie helped pass the screws etc then helped me make it after it was up.
So I was the same as you and once i had decided that was it. I think it can be very confusing for them if send mixed signals so good on you for sticking to your way.
I am the same too once dummy was gone that was it. Then when trying to wean from breast - the day they took that first cup of milk no more booby and once I put them in undies that was it.
From my experience thats the best way - but you know that!!!!
Now just to get my 3rd and last baby sleeping through........I know once I decide on that I will do it but I am soft this time around as I was saying yesterday lol.
Anyway enough on me.

You have every reason to be excited sad and nervous! Its a big thing - your first bubby in a big bed! yay

Let us know how it goes!!

thanks girls!!

I will def have an update over the weekend.

Hayles that is a really good idea the way you did it with Soph, might do that too.
Altho the bed and the cot are both actually up and in different rooms and we wanna see if we can change them over without disassembling the whole things but I dunno if we will get them thru the doors, will have to see.
And yes I think it is the way to go. lol at you - softy!

well he was so excited about the new bed, I thought it was gonna be easy, he was happy and bouncing around on it playing and when we asked if he was gonna have a sleep in his new big bed he would say yes but.....
when we kissed him and said nigh nighs, and left his face turned to one of horror and he screamed!!!
I could hear him at the door so I went back in laid on the bed with him for 5 mins and was telling him, this is where we sleep now the cots all gone but teddy's still here and your blanket is still here etc and then I left again and again he screamed, I heard him get up but thought I will just give it 10 mins or so and he ended up going quiet after about 5 mins and I sooo wanted to open the door and see 'where' he went to sleep but held back for abit and finally looked in after about 30-45 mins or so and he was asleep on his bed so I guess that is a good thing.
But yeh wow, I wasnt really expecting it to be a completely trouble free experience but not really expecting him to scream so loud but all is okay now so thats good, shall let you know how tonight goes! lol
Really when we think about it tho, 10 mins of crying/screaming is not so bad! Thats all he did with his dummy too back when we took that off him, so fingers crossed!

Thankyou heaps ladies!
I am really ecstatic with it!
We put him in for today's sleep and like lastnight he looked a bit worried, he didnt cry he just looked at me and dropped his bottom lip as I shut the door (oooohhhh he so nearly sucks me in when he does that sad face, lol) but he has gone off to sleep without a peep at all so yay yay yay!
Wonder how it will go tomorrow with just me home? Hopefully just as good!!

Kel how is Brandon going with his big bed still?
You were getting your puter fixed just after he went into his bed so it has been a while now.
Is he still going down easy etc.
