What sort of booster seats do you girls have/intend to have for your toddlers?
I know everyone seems to rave about the maxirider cos it is a 5 point harness and there is another one in target apparently called a hipod senator which is a 5 point harness.....I do like the idea of the 5 point harness but gosh they are soo expensive! BUT in saying that I guess you cant put a price on your child's safety?
So what kind of boosters do you girls use? do you think its necessary or safer to have the ones with the 5 points?

Ella is currently still using her "Safe N Sound" recliner convertibale car seat. I know its from Birth to 18kg.

We have looked at car seats for the next size and I'm pretty sure we were going with the Maxi-rider.
I am really happy with "Safe N SOund".

They are an expensive brand, but they are soft and nice and safe.

I guess we've never really thought about the price. Car seats have always been on the pricey side, so I guess we just knew what to expect.

I have heard from alot of people that the 5 point one's are alot better even when they are older.

I got both the girls safe n sound - i think maxi riders. The lady called them maxi rider and I said "oh are they?" she said well actually no these are the newer ones to the maxi rider but pretty much the same just different look etc.
They are from 8 - 26kg.
They are grey and come in 3 colours i think.
We got ours for a pretty good price. They were on sale at the time and we bought 2 and got the bassinet aswell so they gave a bit more discount.
The baby also has a safe and sound which was Gracie's one from birth.
I almost bought the ones from target Kel but I wasnt sure if they would fit in my car and the price was not that much different once we saw the safe and sound on special.
I think the 5 point are much better. I plan on having all my children in them for as long as possble.
I have heard that they now recomend (not sure if they have or are changing the laws here or just recomending) that 5 points ones are best used till age 7 now.
I did actually watch a tv thing once showing testing of children (dummies obviously) not in 5 point and it was pretty bad.
But I mean who REALLY knows iykwim - we can be shown/told anything but from logic I am backing that 5 point would be naturally much safer.

Nope I'm pretty sure its LAW that they are in a proper carseat till around age 7.

The maxi riders do look good.
They had them advertised at the Baby Shop on Tuggerah Straight for alot cheaper.

Well they definitely havent passed that law in Queensland yet.
I think they are trying to uniform it for all states tho so its the same Aus wide so maybe soon it will be like that here too.

oh and yes Hayles I agree that the 5 point harness is definitely safer.

Hayley, which maxi-rider do you have?

When did Soph go into one?

Is it either of these?

Hmmm no its neither of those. I am really unsure if it is a maxirider. I know  it wasnt called that but the lady in the shop said they are almost the same just newer. I will see if i can find a link and or i will show you tomorrow. Sophie was in her birth - 18kg car seat till just this yr. She is only just got to 14kg now though. Her birth car seat is now in jakes car so he can take either Soph or Gracie out with him sometimes. And Gracie went into the 8-26kg seat the same as Sophie's  this yr too so that her birth -18kg seat could be free for chloe.

Well seeing your girls seats today Hayley, made things alot clearer.

The car seat we have for Ella goes to 18kgs and she doesn't look like she is squashed in it or anything.
So I think we will just wait for a maxi-rider to come on special and then we will get one.
Or if we have "next" baby, I would rather have Ella out of the seat a few months before "it" arrives.

This is Ella's current seat (but hers is darker colour).

that is fairly similiar to Brandons seat Janna.
His is a 'Go Safe' tho and it goes to 18 kgs aswell, he is waaay off that and I am thinking I have plenty of time too cos I am considering with this bub hiring an ambulance capsule for the first 6 months and then we will change it into Brandons seat and buy a booster for him then.
considering that anyway!
