I have been watching a programme recently about a married couple who have a son and the grandparents have been interfering trying to get their grandson into a boarding school (without consulting his parents first) so he can get a better education.

If you had the money would you send your child to boarding school or ar you happy with them being in a school where they come home every day?

I would give anything to be able to send my grandchildren to a private school but most defo not boarding school. They are just places for parents who can't be bothered to look after their own kids.

Boarding schools are used by a lot of armed forces families.
Instead of changing schools every 2-3 years, when children of soldiers, sailors and airmen go to a boarding school it gives them a stable environment not just for there education but also helps them to make lasting friendships!

i would hate mine being in boarding school, its bad enough being away from them all day let alone a week or however long, i understand people wanting better for their kids but its up to the parents to decide not the grandparents, the grandparents have had their chance to bring up their own kids so they shouldnt interfere and let the parents decide, i have a strong view on that as i have a mother in law that tried to tell me where to send my daughter, she even picked up an enrolement form and filled it in and handed it back into the school she wanted her to go to

I was in bording school for just over 1 year when I was about 7, I had been at the school for abot 2 years by this point.  I only had to go due to relocating from Scotland to England.
It was great fun but at the sametime it was sad because I sometimes was homesick. The school did all they could to be a surogate but it is no substitute for your parents.

I couldnt do it to my kids.
