Tobacco considered Illegal?

As most of you know smoking is being banned in the summer.

Do you think this is ok ?

Do you think shops should still be allowed to seel cigarettes ?

Will this make you give up ?

I don't smoke myself and when in restaurants don't like eating if people around me are smoking but I also have friends that smoke including my sister so I don't know whether I agree with it being banned from all public places.

I a smoker and i think it should be banned where food is served and where there are children like in family pubs but everwhere else i think they should be a smoking part and a none smoking part,so at least people have a choice rather than an outright ban

I am an on off smoker and feel if they werent so freely available it would put some people off, if they werent for sale in every shop I went in then I would think twice about buying them. . . .that is coming from a very weak willed woman lol

I think the smoking ban will cause some real issues, im a smoker but think i may cut down but then we all said that we would cut down if they went above £2.50 a pack and now they are twice that so im not too sure how massive my will power is. but i think that public place smoking should be banned.

Sorry but I think the ban is totally wrong. This is supposed to be a free country...RUBBISH. Also this country would be skint without the revenue brought in by tobacco. I understand that people would like to eat in a smoke free zone and so I have never lit up a fag when sat at my table (although I know that many others do), but then I would like to eat a meal without some dirty minger blowing their nose at the side of me but that never happens. We should all be able to make up our own minds and not be dictated to.

i can see where every one is comeing from and i agree with some of what is said i can understand that people dont want to be takeing in the smoke as i have given up and i know hate the smell so i know in a way why thay want to do it but i still dont think it is fair on the people that do smoke but in pubs i do think there should be a smokers area for them as i dont know why thay should be pushed out but then thay could all ways make a place where there are no none smokers around

as a non smoker you'd think i'd be in favour of the ban.
In principal its a good idea but how is it going to be enforced? Surely the police have better things to do?

Im a smoker at mo but didnt for a long time.  i think its up to an individual what they want to do.  You go to pubs now and they all empy.  People are outside, along with their non smoking friends.  so what is the point
