I'm afraid I don't like it. My daughter-in-law breastfed my youngest Grandson and I found it embarrassing.

Why should a woman who is breast feeding her baby have to "cover up"?
As a nation we seem to find things like page 3 girls, barely dressed models and scantily clad pop stars perfectly acceptable so why is breast feeding in public frowned on???
Breast feeding is perfectly natural and the best start in life for a baby and more should be done to encourage it!

I think breastfeeding in public is perfectly fine. I breastfed both of my children but I did used to find special mothers rooms as I felt embarrassed but I think any mother that feels confident to do it in public should be allowed to. It is a very natural thing and like the other said page 3 and people half naked are accepted the norm but breatfeeding is frowned upon.....that's wrong.

I have no problem with breast feeding in public, if the mother wants to do it she should be able to without embarressment.

I breaastfed marshall for two weeks when he was born, well mix fed, and as id forgotten his bottle i had to feed him myself while in a pub having a meal one lunch time with a friend, i asked if she minded and she said no course not. now two elderly ppl behing me could not see and still complained to teh manager, saying it was disgusting and cold he pls ask me to leave. the manager bless him said, now ladies (to the oldies) there is no way, unless your going out your way to see that the lady vbreastfeeding her son is leaving shes covered up and being discreet so wots your problem seeing as its a family area with a sign saying breast feeding mums welcome.

I think it depends where it is, breast feeding is great but not for everybody. If a woman was sat with her boob hanging out for no reason people would feel uncomfortable, it is no different when a woman is breastfeeding, I am afraid it is the way we have been brought up we are not at ease with seeing other peoples bodies. I do feel a breastfeeding mum should be descreet and find a quiet place, surely its more relaxing for the child as well.
