Do you think that tax credits award enough money? Do you think they help you or don't give enough?

I can't believe what we get....I don't know how they expect us to pay all our bills, get food and clothes and things the kids need and pay rent and council tax.

What are your views?

I think its a help if your are not working and claiming child tax credit but i think its rubbish if you work and want to claim working tax credit my sister inquired about it b4 she lost her baby and she couldnt claim at all coz they sed she earns too much, all they would give her was £20 a week towards childcare costs,I think sometimes it works out your better off if your not working!!

Yes cos Darrin works they said we won't get much and we don't...but what they don't take into consideration is that before he moved in with me he lived with his 2 kids and his then wife, and he had his own family financial responsibilities. I had my own debts too. So now we have to live off his wage alone....we don't get any working tax credit and a small amount of child tax credit. We have to pay our rent and council tax and try and pay off our debts that we had from before. and pay bills and buy stuff the kids need.
I think it's rubbish!!

I don't work and I couldn't cope with out child tax credit. When I was still married it used to be the money I used to buy food, same with the child benefit, cos all his wages went on bills and debts
