Alcopops,super-strength lager and cider are to be targeted for significant taxes under a new scheme to halve drinking comsumption in Britain and turn around the culture of binge-drinking-Can you see this working or are they just wasting their time again?

I can't see it working cos the kids will just get more money from their parents. They want to drink and are will to pay whatever. It would be different if they were having to earn the money they need instead of running to mummy and daddy.

it could be a good idea for younger people but they would still end up getting the money anyway-- i dont think its for for people who are old enough to drink and enjoy having a drink without causing problems to others why should they have to pay more for the sakes of others
