Have I got a doosy of a newscoop for you!  Hold onto your seat dearie.   Yesterday I was at the beauty parlor... down at Mabel's place on First Street....  I wish she'd move from that neighborhood.  You too?   ... ...    Ain't that right.   You go girl... I feel the same way, but her prices are soooo good.  A woman's gotta do what she's gotta do to accent her natural beauty don't  you know.  No matter what part of town she has to go to!

Well, anyways....  here I was enjoying a nice head massage in the shampoo bowl when I just happened to overhear a phone conversation one of the employees was having in the back room.   You too?  I know, doesn't she just do wonders for the scalp!

Well, anyways....  that new girl.. what's her name...??... Betsy.. that's it.   She's standing there chewing on her gum and yakking away totally forgetting where she's at.   And from the gist of things on my end.. she was talking to Fred Benson!   Yes girl....  Francine's Fred!  Can you believe it???... Me neither!!

What was she saying???  Well, heck... with that water runnin' I couldn't hear every word mind you... but I heard enough to know she was talking about more than getting her kitchen sink unclogged!

Gertrude... calm down girl.. I just had that chair recovered.   Well, I knowwwww it's hard to believe!  I agree!!   But you also know me well enough to know that I never ever spread gossip of any such kind!   Do you honestly think I'd dare say anything that I wasn't absolutely, totally, positively assured of?   Our Francine is such a dear girl...  she deserves better than her Fred messing around with some ditso named Betsy.

Well.... I don't know Gertrude?  I didn't make a point of deliberately listening to her whole conversation.   I don't do things like that you know.   I just happened to be close by... and then Mabel started a chattering with the woman in the bowl next to mine and you know Mabel's high pitched voice.  Who can hear anything else when she's yakking.

Gertrude honey....  I was thinking...  you know.. isn't it time for a little trim there.   I think Mabel has an opening tomorrow afternoon.   Betsy works tomorrow too.  ... ....   How do I know... well,  as I was paying my bill  I heard her ask to switch work days with Tammy Dee.  Something about something she had to do tonight!  

Phone?... sure dear.... help yourself.   Yes, the number's right here.  Mmmmm..... aren't these little cakes just delicious!   I got them down at Clarabell's Bakery.....   you would not believe what I heard in the cake aisle......

Well hi there Lady Unicorn... so good of you to call..... what are you up to this morning?
 
You did??   Gertrude filled you in huh....  
 
You saw who...?.... let me turn down my music.... just a minute,  I got my housework dancing tape on to keep me going this morning.
 
Ohhh.... you saw Fred.   He was???...Well I'd just love to hear all about it.. why don't you come over later for some coffee and we can sit and visit a while.  I have a new brownie recipe that is to die for girl...
 
Work for the Gazette.... ???... why no,  I don't think I'd have time to do that.   With my home business and all selling platicware. 
 
Someone said I ought to write a gossip column since I know it all....
Now who on earth would say something like that... was it Hilda Frankless?... that sounds like something she'd say.   If anyone know's it all it's that there Hilda...at least that's what she'd have everyone down at the church to believe!  No one can do it right but her.... know it all,...LOL ... silly ol' woman. 
 
And besides everyone that knows me knows for a fact that there is not a gossiping bone in this here body of mine... that is not the Christian way to be!   My parents taught me better than that.   I was taught by my momma to always care for your neighbors, be interested in their lives and to always know what needs they have.   She always had cakes or cookies for someone... and was always right there when a neighbors husband made his wife cry for one reason or another.  She was the most consoling woman I've ever known.  And I just try to honor her by being just like her... why she knew everyone on the block and was always the first one to greet someone new that had just moved into the neighborhood.   And my did she know her birds and trees!   She just loved nature and could stand at the window for the longest time enjoying the view of nature.   Some of the neighbors had the cutest bird houses hanging in their yards and she really enjoyed watching their bird feeders she said. 
 
Did you say something Lady Unicorn?.... ohhhh... you need to get off the phone now... well... it was sure nice talking to you... now you come on by anytime and sit a spell.  And of course if you know any goings on in the neigborhood here... that we might of course need to pray for you know.. well, you just feel free to let me know now.   Sally Mae's husband got hit over the head with her frying pan last week.. he had an awful headache for a while...but we prayed for him when she come by to let me know his need and I think he's doing better now.    Of course, I haven't seen in lately.   He seems to be staying home more now than he used to.   He's not out quite so late or so often like he was doing.  
 
What.. ok... I'm sorry... I'll let you go.. I've got to get to my housework too.  Now don't forget to come by for them brownies this afternoon... bye bye dear.... so good to hear from you.....

I thought I would come by for those brownies and maybe a bit of news if you don't mind.  Was nice of you to call me and invite me over!  I think I will stop by some of the other's houses too...you just never know who might have the coffee pot on!  I hope you didn't over do with your housework?  Well, you take it easy dear and don't work too hard...why don't you find some time to go out on the town, maybe go to the beauty parlor and say hi to the girls there.  I am hoping to go later, I want my hair cut!  It is getting so long!

 ....  oh my...  I sure miss playing Bingo.   Here I sit at home keeping my stampin' arm warmed up and ready.   I haven't played since I moved out of the other town where I used to play all the time.   Goodness gracious did we used to have some good times at the Hall over there. 
 
Well, except for that ol' geezer Rupert...  oh my how he was a bother to us women...  let me see... I know I've got a picture of him somewhere around here.. maybe I'll practice stampin' all over his ugly face!
 
 ... yep, there it is... what a face!   I got this picture of him when I caught him messin' around with the Bingo Parlor owner's computer.. sending out trashy e-mails bothering some female I'm sure.   We'd be minding our own business marking our cards and here'd he come down the aisles... always trying to smooch on some poor ol' little lady.   That ol' man got hisself slapped more than a new born baby....
 
Goodness, my arm's getting tired... too out of shape.  I think I'll take a break and call Gertrude.   She was supposed to go to Mabel's and get her hair trimmed... and see if there was any news about Betsy and Fred.  
 
Hmmmm... Lady Unicorn said something about needing a hair cut too when she came by to visit and try my new brownie recipe.   What a good time visiting we had too.   Not many of them brownies left either.   Maybe she'll get Betsy over at Mabel's to cut her hair..... there's bound to be someone who will have the scoop on what's goin' on between her and Fred.   My goodness.. we owe it to poor Francine to get as much information as possible... a good friend would be that caring and concerned... don't you think?

 .... Oh my what pretty flowers from Damsel...  so nice of her to visit.   I need to call the girls and tell them about my trip to the beach today.   Saw the prettiest sea turtle.  Poor thing.. not sure if it will live though.   One of the neighbor ladies from a house on the beach put it in a container to keep it till the wild animal preservationists could come and see to it.   Took 2 whole rolls of pics out there today... sure hope they come out good.   It's time for a nap.... all the running around I did today has me worn out.    Later on I'll take a stroll around the neighborhood and see how everyone is doing.   The moon's almost full ... a good night to be out and about.

I just want you to know that  you are in my thoughts and prayers...I also brought you some chicken soup!  I hope you like it.  They say Chicken soup is great for when you are ill.  I really do wish I could bring some to you really but it is at least in my thoughts...God bless you, get well soon!
