Welcome to Sunshine and Rainbows....  
 
I'm so thankful for Autumn.   It's my favorite season.... a time of rest from past labors, a time for contemplation of all that was, and what is yet to be.   And it's also a time of faith and hope.  Faith that what comes to an end, is not really gone forever.   And hope that what is not seen during the coming Winter will, with the coming of a future Spring, be seen again to be savored and enjoyed.   Sunshine and Rainbows is all about walking in that hope and faith.

  ..... is my desired  theme/motto of Sunshine and Rainbows.   Life can indeed get dark and cloudy on some days ... but there is always sunshine to be found to chase those clouds away, and somewhere close by, a rainbow of hope through God's promises.

All ages are welcome to visit.... however Sunshine and Rainbows is designed for ladies 40 and above to have a nice quiet place just for friendship and support when needed, and sharing gained knowledge and wisdom about life.. the kind that comes with years of living and learning. 

Please come visit and have a look around, read some of the messages and see if it's a place you'd like to be a part of.   There isn't anything fancy there... and only a handful of members at present.   Wether you are in need of love and support, or have the desire to give those things to others... Sunshine and Rainbows just might be the place for you.

    ..... I'm glad you stopped by to visit and take a look around. 

Here is an explanation of what kind of group Sunshine and Rainbows is designed to be.

I didn't have an answer to that myself, until just recently.   So I thought I better share it here for visitors who are reading and wondering if this is a group they'd like to be a member of.

For three years now I have wrestled with my brain and spirit about just what kind of group it was supposed to be. 

I've contemplated over and over about wether or not to even keep it.   But something in me just would not let it go away, and would not let myself delete it.   I was going through that struggle yet again just last month... and I don't remember the exact day it happened... but finally the answer came to me.  

I know now not only what I want Sunshine and Rainbows to be, I know what it's supposed to be, why it was created.  
 
A place of calmness and rest....an oasis... a place to share one's heart and soul if needed or desired... or just a place to be still and quiet and at peace... and to know someone else cares about you.
 
Just recently, I was just about ready to 'give up' yet again...lol... was at a loss about it... when suddenly, after being on another group one day ... it just came to me in a flash.... 
 
......not so much what Sunshine and Rainbows was supposed to be... but more so, what it was NOT.  
 
It is not a place to be loud, or even extremely funny.... although laughter and joy is greatly welcomed.  
 
It is not a place to have contests, or posting wars. 
 
It is not a place to learn how to make siggies... indeed... not even a place that siggies will be offered.   There are plenty of other places to get those... and most people belong to another group where they can get them anyway.  (Links and referrals will be readily available if needed)
 
It is not a 'religious' nor a bible teaching group... although as a born-again Christian myself, Christ and the Word will be freely shared.  
 
It is not a debate group.  
 
It is not a competitive group in any way... no group awards, no numbers counting of any kind.  
 
And it most definitely is not a fast-paced group....
 
It is not some place a member has to try to post every day... (but they will be most welcome and free to if they so desire and have time.)   No posting requirements of any kind, ever.    
 
It is not a place where a member will ever be made to feel they have to be .....
 
Sunshine and Rainbows is simply meant to be just what the name says it is...  a place to find a bit of sunshine and a rainbow of hope when the world around you is cloudy or gray or sad and you need something to make you smile, feel comforted and cared for. 
 
And it's also a place where a member can give a bit of sunshine or a rainbow for someone else by opening her heart and soul and feeling free to express her self in words in a message, or a story or a poem....or just by posting a gif or picture or something else that may make someone smile or laugh that day.  
 
It's a place where I hope members will be willing to be 'real'.   I'd like you to feel free to share your heart, your dreams, hopes and desires as well as tears.  I'd like for members to feel free to have heart-to-heart talks with each other over a nice glass of wine or hot cup of tea.  It's what us women do best. 
 
As the world gets darker and colder and less certain.... my dream and hope is that Sunshine and Rainbows will be a place for like-minded older women to escape to and that it will be a place for the members to find comfort, hope, encouragement, understanding, compassion, smiles and laughter... and lots of hugs.    
 
If you are a lady in need of these things... or if you have them to give to others.... maybe this is the place for you.   Or maybe you know someone else who would be blessed to be a member here.   If so, please let her know about us.
