Hi Gran... this is what I think we need on the Bingo Page.... to make sure anyone who has never played the game has all the instructions they need.

I just wrote this... and it of course can be changed and shortened in any way you think best... if you agree it would benefit us to use something like this.   I just wanted to get all the information on this example to you.   It does not have to be the 'final' cut.

If you decide to use it... feel free to copy/paste it into one of your pretty pages.. and edit it anyway you need or want to.  I know it's long... but it answers any question I think anyone would have about how we play bingo at TGP.   Let me know what you think.   It's 10:22 pm now... will be going to bed soon.  Hugs, Grace

title of thread...   What is "Bingo"? How do I play it?

Bingo is a number game played with this game square...

A player may play as many 'cards' like above as they want to. (further details below)

The blank squares are filled in with numbers. (further details below)

A 'caller' calls out a number.  (further details below)

If you have that number on your card you "mark" that called number in a way of your choosing. (examples given below)

The basic game, called "Straight Line"  is won by getting 5 'called' numbers in a row... usually in a straight line up and down, across, or diagonally... anywhere on the card.   When this happens a person has made a "Bingo"!
The 'free' square in the middle may be part of getting your 5 in a row.

Sometimes other kinds of ways/lines of numbers to mark on your cards to win the game are made up by the caller.  Unless stated before hand by the caller... the games played will be for Straight Line bingo.

...................................................................

The chart belows explains which number choices you are to use under each letter column of the word Bingo.
In the row of squarees under column B:  use any numbers from 1 to 15, in any order.

In the row of squares under  column I:  use any numbers from 16-30, in any order.

In the row of squares under column N:  use any numbers from 31-45, in any order.

In row of squares under G:  use any numbers from 46-60, in any order.

In the row of squares under column O:  use any numbers from 61-75, in any order.

A filled out "game card" will look something like the one below... depending on which numbers you choose to put in each square.  Every game card has to be different from any other game card in the game being played.  There is no right or wrong way to fill in the squares.

The middle square on a Bingo Card is always a "free" spot and never has a number in it.  It is usually marked with an x.

15   21 40  46  62
 1 30  37  60  70
 4 18   X 55  71
10  23  42  49 68
19  31  57  73

Examples of marked cards......
Some options are to change the color of the called number,  or,  make the called number 'bold',  or even add something to the square that the 'called number is in... like an emotican, or just an x next to the number.   Whatever is most comfortable for you, and your eyes.

To make your card for playing a game... copy/paste your blank card or multiple of cards into a "new discussion" reply screen on the Bingo Hall page.

Some things in a reply screen will not go through when you hit send if there is too much inside it.   If you play a large number of cards, you may have to divide your cards into 2 threads... like Pattycake does.

Title the 'discussion' with your name and the current number of the bingo game being played....  example....  Grace's Cards for Game 6.  Again, no right or wrong way here either.

Fill in the blanks of the squares with numbers according to the chart above, and hit send.   This is your 'bingo card' thread for that game.

Once the first number is called.... no new players may join that particular game.   They will have to wait till the next game starts.

Each new game you play you will make a new card thread to use for the new game.

When a game ends and a new one begins you may play the same card again that you made before...  just copy paste the origional, unmarked card, into a new reply screen.

Or, you may choose to make a brand new card and put in different numbers than the last time.

Each day, the bingo caller will "post/call" on the special "Game Numbers" thread the new called numbers... sometimes more than once a day.  You are responsible for checking the numbers called each day to see if you have them on your card.

The first person to post a message that they have made a "Bingo" on their card wins the game.   You may have also been a winner... but if you skipped a day to check your cards.. someone else may call bingo before you.  If you really want to win... check daily for new numbers called.   Some of our bingo players really, really love to win and holler Bingo!

After the first bingo winning card is posted in a game, all players will have 24 hours to do a final check of their cards to see if anyone else made a bingo.  This is done to be fair to players in various time zones.

As soon as a winner comes forth.... players may go ahead and begin making their game card threads for the next game if they are going to play the next game.

The actual time space between the end of one game and start of the next game will be different with each game ... depending on players personal circumstances, and how long we need to wait for players to make their cards.  We don't want anyone to miss out on a game if they are wanting to play... so we will never rush into the next game.  But we won't wait too too long either... players do get excited and anxious to begin again.

During any Bingo game.... players are welcome and encouraged to "gossip" and have pretend fun in the Bingo Hall by posting messages to each other, even making up stories if desired.   We love to eat at the Bingo Hall.. and the caller loves receiving food bribes.. even if they never work.

This is the fun world of Bingo at TGP.   There are no limit to how many people can play... so come on and join in the fun!  We'd love to have you.  If you need further explanations, or if you need help getting your cards posted,.. please let us know in the Bingo Hall Mailbox.   We want you to play, and to have a good time playing.. and will help you in any way needed.

Thanks for coming by to read and check us out.

If you have the numbers being called....You can copy/paste your marked cards into a new reply onto your own thread each day.  Or you can just have your posted cards also written out on paper at home and mark them that way.. and just post your 'winning' card if you have one.   Some people may post their filled out cards.. and then print them out to mark that way.   No right or wrong way.

To Make Your Cards:

For the Letter games: Use the samples below, and just replace each x with a number... following the same number column guideline chart as for all regular bingo games.

On the Letter cards, you do not have to have the other blanks on the cards filled in, because those spots will not help you form the winning letter.   You can only 'bingo' when the numbers I call match the numbers on your card that form the letter of the game I am calling.
