The Fate Dates The maturing, changing Self needs one more combination, another wheel of time, to turn our passages. It is the mother lode planet Saturn, whose slow movement turns into three major destiny points in our lives. Finally, we need Uranus to administer a cosmic shift that often is experienced as a fated accident from which new developments can spring. On these 'Fate Dates' that follow, you can see how certain issues come to the fore in your life and need to be addressed for your soul's progress. As you look at these Fate Dates you can see the unfolding of the larger pattern of the story of your life. The first Saturn Cycle, from birth to age twenty-eight and three-quarters is under the guardianship of Urdh, who rules the past. In this first cycle of our lives we learn the potential and limitations of the bodies that our genes and our environment have given us, and work out the psychological implications of our family and cultural heritage. Whether we are fulfilling parent expectations or rebelling against them, we are responding to the past. First Destiny: Get a life.
Birth: Purifications for the renewal of the mother and the blessings of the child.
Day 7: The first moon-quarter of life. Name, rituals and receiving the new baby into the community.
Year 3: A quarter of the Jupiter cycle. Blessings on the child. The soul reveals its purpose, so watch your child carefully. Ask your child questions of a cosmic nature. They are sages at this age.
Year 7 to 9: Initiation into the spirit world and acknowledging the spiritual nature of the child. New sacred name give for the spirit. Begin to do rituals.
Year 14: First half of the Saturn cycle. Time to go to work on some project of great interest. Initiation into womanhood.
Year 21: Initiation of the Fate, Urdh. Three-quarters through the Saturn cycle, serving the first Fate. Assumption of full personal responsibility. Playing out the scenario of the first destiny. Verdandi's Dance In the second Saturn Cycle, ruled by Verdandi, we 'become' ourselves. By now most of us have worked though our old hang-ups as Verdandi gives us a new mission. We know now who we are and what we can do. We settle into careers and relationships, build families, and discover our missions in life. Second Destiny: Bloom, get another life.
Year 28 1/4: First full Saturn return. Completion of the adult self. Initiation into the second destiny. Remember the many other energy curves that end up here. Fundamental life changes occur here at this stage.
Year 33 to 34: Questioning authority seriously. You have lots of turmoil in your life now, but hang in there and endure. Look for a new mission to be revealed--it's in your face.
Years 37 to 38: Saturn squares Saturn. Your soul work is to dismantle all false identities. Be honest with yourself about yourself. Build up the dream.
Years 37 to 48: Pluto squares Pluto. Your soul work is to confront powerlessness and victim hood. Integrate your Shadow Self and the parts of yourself you have denied so far.
Years 38 to 42: Uranus opposite Uranus. Midlife transitions and sudden changes. Watch for reversals! Go with them and don't be afraid.
Years 41 to 42: Mystical awakening. Your soul work is creativity, spell work, ritual work, writing about the soul, and mellowing out. Loving all around you. Review your past from a spiritual point of view and then reflect.
Years 43 to 44: Your soul work is to resolve all childhood or youthful hurts. Healing of the old self (inner child). Forgiving all around you. Vows taken earlier in life are now fulfilled--move on!
Years 51 to 52: The comet Chiron returns. The wounded healer (Chiron or Vulcan) is taking us to a different reality. Your soul work is to confront mortality--which is never easy. Your could sustain a new wounding--so brace yourself and be careful.
Years 56 to 58: Second Saturn return--Verdandi's destiny ends and Skuld greets you. All the other curves converge in this time of our lives. It's as momentous as the first Saturn return, but you are prepared for it. Wisdom is coming. Peace of mind is coming too, but if you have neglected the soul work until now--you may have to play catch-up. Skuld's Dance The Third Cycle, beginning around age fifty-six or so, opens the door to yet another destiny. This is the realm of Skuld--what shall be. Gradually, we break loose from the bonds that we forged for ourselves in Verdandi and give birth to a new self that has been slowly maturing within. We have done everything our parents thought we should do, as well as the things we thought we should do. We even perform stunning reversals. In Skuld's cycle--the soul can fly free. Third Destiny: Simplify. Express yourself.
Years 60 to 62: Uranus squares Uranus. This is the time to review your leftover rebellions and give some of them inner action. Submerge in the holiness of the everyday or pursue relentlessly a key action for liberation.
Year 63: Cronehood really begins to take shape. Your new self identity is emerging. Your priorities are different now. If you were giving your energy to others all your life, you are now taking in energy for yourself. If you were taking in energy from others all your life, now you will have to give some back.
Years 65 to 66: Saturn squares Saturn. Deeper stability is needed. Review what it would take to look after yourself better. The structure of yoru lifestyle should be worked on and stabilized.
Years 71 to 72: The sixth Jupiter return. Time to drop into the energy of wisdom about getting older. There is much joviality and wisdom to share, especially in your family circle.
Years 72 to 73: Saturn opposes Saturn. Be careful of hardships and accidents. This is a dangerous time.
Years 79 to 80: The third-quarter square Saturn. Simplify even more. Review the changes you made the years before and try to improve on them. You understand soul work now. Spirituality is a priority more than ever.
Years 85 to 86: Pluto opposes Pluto. Confront death and learn how to see her as another state of intimacy. Prepare to enter the spirit world.
Years 87 to 88: The third Saturn return and the end of Skuld's destiny for you. You are on your own now. Bless you as you become our ancestor! Blessings,
